Surely for a collection in person, INR doesnt apply. Doesnt the table now belong to the buyer, who needs to make arrangements to collect it?

INR can apply to any transaction paid by paypal, with a few exceptions (this not being one).
  • So that would make the OP a thief then, seeing as they have relisted the table.

No. A thief has to dishonestly appropriate the item, he hasn't done so. There is no element of theft here.

The item has been paid for, and the OP is trying to sell it again whilst deliberately not refunding.

    Seems dishonest to me.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

But the buyer didnt pay for postage......it was "free collection in person"......if he doesnt collect it, it cant be an INR?

Well they haven't received the item have they?

The only thing Paypal care about is tracking, if seller doesn't have it, buyer will win.

Not only that you'll have FVFs to pay as well because no buyer is going to agree to a cancellation to help out a seller who clearly has no clue how to behave.

It's only £10 !!!!!! just refund the money that is ebay for you some people bid when they shouldn't.

Keeping the money is dishonest and really mean.

£10.50 is a very popular price for a coffee table, this one though is in the way of the seller who keeps walking in to it:

    *puts hand up* :j
I think you will find that by any law and 'Ebay law' you do have to refund as they have changed their minds. It's under the distance selling acts which can be found here http://pages.ebay.co.uk/businesscentre/returnsandthelaw.html

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have to refund an item if the buyer changes their mind within 7 working days after the day on which the item was delivered.

I am shocked, most sellers would understand that it's human error, no-one is perfect. Fair enough you are annoyed your are going to have it cluttering up for for £10 odds surely you can just refund it?

Doesnt apply to private sellers and yes I could refund it, that's why I was asking for opinions, the buyer didn't ask for a refund hence my hesitation
    OP shame on you.

The search is very flawed. I have tried to search for items closeby and it tells me something 5 miles away is 1,000,000 miles. :D
Agreed that's why I don't bid before I check where they are

I thought I was being overly nice wanting to refund her money even though she hadn't asked for it, however, the downright trollish nature of some of the replies on here have convinced me that I am too nice and as I said earlier ill wait and see if she asks for a refund.

I'm sure all the trolls on here saying what a horrible person I am have had fun and some of them have even enjoyed afternoons trawling through eBay to find coffee tables. I'm glad to have afforded yo so much fun in your otherwise dull lives

Yes, but you said that made the op a thief. It doesn't make them a thief, that's not to say they are not dishonest.

Google PayPal INR/collection scam, it may clear things up.
  • Why on earth would anyone have their 100% feedback ruined with the inevitable neg from the buyer for the sake of £10.50..thats beyond my comprehension
    :T2013...nothing..still hoping though!!
