News update. My dad received a lettter from his solicitor on Friday asking for his permission for the title deeds of his house to be released from the solicitor he was involved with before. Both him and my mum signed the forms, the sold sign is now up and we have started the unenviable task of packing boxes etc. Imagine 52 years of clutter, eg congratulatory cards sent to my mum and dad when my brother was born 51 years ago and such like. However, they are taking it in their stride, a little bit at a time and I have been running back and forth to charity shops and the local tip. I think its me that's the worrier and making them worry because I am worried, what a family. Once again to everybody thanks very much for your input, very heartening to know that people really care.
  • I'm so pleased you're getting there - you'll be glad when all this is over and you've got your parents close to you :)

I am trying my best but my husband went into hospital yesterday with a prolonged angina attack so it is very difficult. However, he may get out today. I can't help being a worrier.

Worry got me nowhere apart from a bald head and high blood pressure at an early age (30!)

Thanks for all that, unfortunately have not touched the stuff for 8 years as I liked it a wee bit too much. We have had excellent news this morning that the buyer wants into my parent's house round about the 18th May, my parent's can get into their house anytime they want so we have three weeks to go. I personally think it is better this way as there is now no time too worry about anything, just get on with the packing up.
