Exactly what I thought. have received no word as yet from the estate agent. It may take a couple of days yet, who knows?
  • Most of them have their boards in their cars or offices, give them a call - they may even let you collect one and erect it yourself if they don't have time :)

As the offer was subject to survey and has not yet been confirmed, the house is not actually sold, so unwise to put up a "sold" sign yet.
Hope it is all settled soon, and good luck with the clearing out and packing!!
Our daughter said to us last year "you and dad are not allowed to die before you clear out the loft. I don't want to be left with doing it!"

Well we received news from our estate agent today that the bill fot the damp would be approximately £600 including VAT etc. Prospective buyer wants to drop the offer by this amount, my dad has agreed. So now our estate agent is just awaiting the written report and will phone tomorrow and see where we go from here. I am glad because my parents do not need to sort the damp, so we will see how things proceed. Estate agent said they will come and put a sign up saying that the house is under offer as soon as they hear anything and we will see where we go from there. Thanks again to everyone for their advice.
  • That's great news for you! It shouldn't be long before your parents are starting their new life near you :)

Estate agent boss (senior partner) telephoned today to say that everything is going to plan. He is going to be sending out documents for my mum and dad to sign. Asked if they were happy with the offer and was very nice indeed. In fact I have never had to deal with solicitor's and estate agents before but this company has been absolutely fantastic with my old mum and dad, so what will the documents be and what will happen next?

  • Some companies restore your faith don't they!

It will be the contracts - once they've been signed and returned you'll be ready to set an entry date :)
