Did you just make a 17p overpayment?

Well the good news is we only need to OP £160.22 at the end of the month so be on course to be mortgage free by September 2022, I am not sure I will be able to OP like this all the time. I think I may see how much I have left at the end of the month and then ask My Ajmoney to match it and OP. I would like to have about £245 though as then we can make the full £490 and my other OPs this month will have been a bonus.

Haha, that probably cost the bank more than 1p to process it. Legend.

I was thinking of doing my £5 reward from the bank as an overpayment to my mortgage.

Get the bank to pay my mortgage a bit!!

You should definately do that, it is £5 you wouldn't have had.

Hiya, I can't help my orderly mind :rotfl:

As its an off set mortgage I can whizz money around from place to place. I tend to account tidy once a day, then shift lodgers rent and food money once a week, then eb@y sales as and when, plus the monthly large OP.

Edited to add: then there's £co payments, small pension. My aim is for the smaller OPs to cover the interest charges, meaning the mortgage payment and monthly large OP makes a significant reduction each month. Happy days.........

This is one hell of a journey, may as well ring the changes on the way :)

If mine was an offset mortgage then I wouldn't have needed to bother with a lot of these payments.

I am a bit confused by the balance on my mortgage and today's interest as yesterday's silly little payment hasn't made a difference to the total although the amount showing that I have paid this month is more than I have paid and today's total balance...well I don't know. Not feeling 100% today so maybe I am missing something, I will go and have a little look now and see if I can stop confusing myself!

I am not going completely mad. Today's mortgage balance does not include the 19p OP yesterday, maybe it doesn't register the same way. Not got to the bottom of the payment total yet so will work on that yet. If small amounts are going to be a pain then I may transfer them into my mortgage pot savings and pay it to the mortgage when I have over £1.

I was being stupid, the total amount paid on my mortgage this month does not include the 19p from yesterday. I have shifted some money into my OP savings account ready for moving at the end of the month or to use if I end up short so that is another £30.20 hopefully on the way. I have £20 on its way to me eventually from cancelling my travel insurance with the bank, it would be nice if that came through before the end of the month.

    Hi,

Do you always put the money in an account for the end of the month?

Why not just put is straight into the mortgage, and save some interest from that date?

Some mortgages have minimum payments for OPs. For example, Santander won't let me pay off less than £500 at a time.
