Our larger mortgage is now in the £110s (only just) :j There is no possibility that I will make my MFiT target of £100 and I have no idea what planet I was on when I thought that would be achievable but I am very happy that we are slowly bringing the total down. Around £25k in just over 3 years isn't too bad, it would have been a lot lower if I hadn't been OPing.

    Hey guys,

I have finished my first course and passed it. Not quite as well as I would have liked and it means a probable delay in doing the next one which also means an extra year living away from home :( I am having a chat with my superiors next week to discuss my options but I am currently trying to work on staying positive about the fact that I have passed.

I hope to be able to post more often over the next couple of weeks before then starting another course and prep for it in the new year. I am going to do a new SOA next weekend to check we are doing ok for our money. This is quite hard to do when I am not living at home as Mr AJM is not the most frugal but I will see what can be done.

I thought maybe I should show my face :o I finished the last of my courses 2 weeks ago and have now been promoted.

I have been doing my best with the finances with minimal internet access since the new year and am now trying to get organised to keep all my spreadsheets up to date again.

I am finding it really hard living away from home at the moment so am going to try and throw myself into a SOA over the weekend so I can work out where best to put my pay rise!

I hope everyone is doing well x

I will be flying home for next weekend and then I only have 5 days back down here before I spend 2 weeks st home for my Easter holidays :D Mr AJM currently have no holidays together until next Christmas so the lack of holiday planning gets me down sometimes. My boss is looking to see if he can do some re-jigging to help me have at least a week away but I won't believe it until it happens.

I am going to try and keep a spending diary from tomorrow for the next 2 weeks to see where my cash goes. I know most of it is on meals but I want to double check I am not frittering too much of it away. I seem to be eating when I don't need to either so hopefully this along with a food diary will help me get on top of that.

I had a lovely weekend at home and am looking forward to Friday when I get to go home for 2 whole weeks :j

I have thrown myself back into surveys while I am away to try and work up some cash/vouchers. I haven't got round to starting a spending diary yet but as I am thinking about it my spending is already better. My payrise for promotion was 5% and I should find out how much that will be in my pocket in the next couple of days. Now I have my 1% annual payrise to look forward to!?!

I am going to assess our mortgage OPs over the next couple of weeks and see if my plan is sustainable and if I can get Mr AJM on board with it. We have just been discussing it on the phone, hopefully we will have a maximum of 8 years and 2 days to go (his 60th birthday) but if we slightly miss it we will be so much better off so we can but try!

You certainly won't hit it if you don't try for it - go for it :T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
