It has been a little while since I was last on here so thought I should check in.
Things are going well in our household. My OPs are going well and my survey pots are building up nicely.
We are going to have to reassess our finances over the next 6 weeks as I am going to be working away from home for the next couple of years at least. I think I should only need to spend an extra £50 myself a week on food as it is heavily subsidised but we obviously won't be needing so much money in our spending account. It will be trial and error when I go until things settle down. I am currently trying to gather all the belongings red to make my life more comfortable so that might be another expense but I have quite a bit of stuff from before so hopefully it will be limited.
Came back from holiday on Tuesday, it was nice and relaxing but we will not be returning to Egypt. I feel the destination is quite restrictive for getting out and about but at least we had a hot and relaxing week away. I am looking forward to holiday shopping while I am working away to come up with some good deals.
Does anyone know of a good calendar app for android? We would like to use something between both our phones while I am away to manage being able to see each other but are struggling to search the wide market.

My plan for today is to some sorting out in our spare room around watching the grand prix. Finally Mr AJM be onboard with the sorting, partly because we have some visitors in a few weeks. If we could completely sort that room today then I will be happy.

I also need to go for a run and get some shopping.

Last time I had to work away we were apart for a maximum of 3 weeks each time. I will be working in roughly 15 week blocks with a couple of weeks leave at the end of each one and I get a long weekend in the middle of each too. The other weekends are going to depend on how busy I am, I will be doing 9-5 ish until the end of November but will have a lot of extra work to catch up on so may need some of my weekends for that which will hopefully result in promotion at the end of March so kind of worth it. I get paid about £330 a month for living away and we can easily fly a couple of times a month on that. Unfortunately we just have to wait and see :(

I managed the shopping, run and grand prix but failed on doing anything in the spare room. I am putting things off to the biggest degree and not really sure why but doing it is stressing me out. I have 3 phone calls that HAVE to be done ASAP. I have the required phone numbers and information that I need and will do that first things at work tomorrow. I am also quite stressed about going to work tomorrow as I have quite a lot to do over the next 6 weeks before I relocate. I am hoping that addressing these phone calls and getting a couple of reports/signatures done tomorrow will go someway to helping relax me a bit. Once I have done that I need to make quite an epic to-do list which I will post here in the hope that everyone will nag me.

I am slowly tackling my jobs doing a couple a day. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be on top of everything. The only thing I haven't started on is my spare room but I am hoping to do some of that this weekend.

By the end of next month I will have made my MFW 2014 target so if it takes a while for my finances to settle down when I relocate at least we will be able to take a break on that for a while. I even think I would be able to keep all our finances the same, I am tempted to do that for the first month and see how we go. I am quite happy to rein the finances in and find it a lot easier than Mr AJM.

We started tackling the spare room today, out of 10 boxes we have managed to completely empty and rehome/throw 3 of them. I have decided to go through all my books, keep the sentimental/hardback ones and take the rest to the charity shop which should empty another 2. It seems a shame but I am not a fan of re-reading books so someone else may as well benefit from them.

Tomorrow we are tackling our garage, ditching things, setting up our 2 wardrobes to store things in and then for the time being put our CDs etc in the garage until we know what we are doing with them.

Hopefully by Wednesday we will be ready to make our spare room into a proper bedroom.

Please can someone remind me how many years I need to keep all our bank stuff for? I am ready to sort through all my paperwork and archive the older stuff so it doesn't take up so much room in our day-to-day filing but don't want to stop and start as I will never get Mr AJM on board if I do that!

My spare room looks like a bedroom :j all I need to do in there now is decide which board games we are keeping, what I am doing with my wedding dress and make the bed :D longer term I want to get a filing cabinet and a smaller table/desk for the printer.

I have 3 boxes left to sort through in the garage and decide where to put the stuff we have saved/buy furniture to put our CDs and books on.

Next job is our other 2 spare wardrobes.

I requested my first £50 from yougov yesterday :T I wonder how long the next one will take.

We are just over £100 away from completing our MFW2014 challenge, looking forward to tackling a bit more to decide on a target for next year.

I have 4 weeks to finish sorting things out for my move, I have a couple of lists which should help.
