  • Sounds great to me. I'm really looking forward to putting a major dent in the mortgage during the challenge.

I'd also be willing to be the back up to the back up if there's no-one else.

  • I really want to see if I can step this up a bit. Mainly because we are having baby number three and really need to move to a bigger house before the kids hit teens. I guess it's not a NEED as such, but it would be nice if they could have their own bedrooms. So the less we owe on this house, the bigger I can go for the next one!! Just need to persuade the hubby!! ;)

  • Good luck uropachild. We had baby number 3 in January and we are in a similar position, where we want to get the mortgage as low as possible to allow us to borrow more and either extend the house or move in order to get a fourth bedroom. That's why I'm so eager to join T4.

Yes if FB doesn't return I will set up a new thread for T4 after T3 has concluded.
Yay! This one has been a great long-term motivation for me, just crunching the numbers and my last update will be an outstanding mortgage of £135,222 - still huge, but at the start of MfiT-T3 it was £186,369, so I've cleared a bit over £51k in three years ... and if things go to plan we should be mortgage free in under five years now, which will be more than ten years ahead of what we originally signed up for. :D

Wow that is seriously impressive Lomcevak! & just think as you get closer to the end the progress will snowball as you are paying less interest!
I'll do the T4 thread in the next week or so & throw a link up here to start getting registrations.

I am proposing amending the submissions slightly to the 25th of the month & starting in January so reporting months would be Jan, April, July, Oct (running 2016-2019).
I'm also intending to have VoucherMan & maybe another 1 as backups on the google sheet as life often has a habit of throwing the unexpected up at the most awkward times.

Happy to listen to peoples thoughts

This is great news. Thanks so much Trix:T you're the best:T

  • Hi all,

Have not posted in quite a few months. My last job made me redundant in July and I was lucky enough to start a new job straight away. I have also got divorced in the meantime but managed to pay my ex and reduce the mortgage so I'm very happy. I'll update my payments and look forward to joining again for the next MfiT.
