Rats! Failed to submit my form by the deadline but have just submitted now. Used this month's OP to pay off Son's Credit card. I know, ...own 2 feet etc but my Dad did it for me when I did what he has just done and resigned from a job I hated with nothing else in train. I think I am green but we have been spending money too freely just recently. Get a grip Woman!!

Well done everyone, brilliant progress. I promise to update on time (putting it in the calendar now)

    Thanks Trix

I'm wishing the time away here, I really look forward to the time I'm MF. I get paid four-weekly which is a pain. I have money sitting in the bank account for my c/card (hate having to keep it there) and now waiting to see if the next payday will be early enough for me to do another OP on mortgage (pending on when the next c/card payment is due). :) How sad is that? :P

    Hi folks

Appreciate that Trix will probably be gone :( (but pleased for her!) early in 2016..but is anyone up for starting a new challenge? I would really like to really get it all over and done with next time...but not sure I can keep up with the spreadie sheets.. conjuring magic from excel ain't entirely my thang.. :(

    Anyone up for it??

I was mulling on this from when it was mentioned before, I am looking to move at the moment & there will be a cost to change so im not clear of mortgage land completely just yet, but my house will probably go on the market after I've paid this mortgage off early next year. I think I've got my head round FB's spreadsheets & can probably get it all set up for someone to do (just need to understand the form inputs) or if people don't mind a gap then could start a new one in the new year? Is there any significance with the Dec-Dec?

I'll add my name to the reserve list in case no-one else offers. It would hopefully tie in nicely with the end of my mortgage. Managed the MFW topic one year, and maintaining this should be quite simple in comparison.

The inspiration for this challenge was originally to formalise the remaining three years of my own mortgage free goal of 12/12/12.
Looking back it appears challenges 1 & 2 ran concurrently for a few months. If I were to take it on, I'd probably move the start/finish towards the end of the month. That way I'd squeeze in an extra pay-day (20th), and increase my chances of clearing the mortgage.
As for FB's spreadsheet, I made a copy of it in June when he didn’t return. I tidied up most of the missing/empty/incomplete sections, and it seems to work okay. I'm sure he'd be happy to know that it will probably continue to be used.:)
  • Hi, Sorry for the late update - I have submitted the form for the last chart. Trix will you be able to update the sheet for me?
    Thanks
