Hope all goes well SD.
Not much we can say to cheer you up, but positive thoughts are being thought in your direction0 -
Positive thoughts from me too xA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks all. Not feeling down, don't worry life's too short! He is okay in himself, its a niggling on-going issue, but I am sure we'll get to the bottom of it eventually. If anything, it is encouraging me to start looking at my own lifestyle in terms of health and how I appear as role model. I think we forget how much of our behaviour, good or bad, influences and guides our children's for better or worse.0

Well mixed week. Lost few pounds (in weight) which is good as on track to shift another stone before Xmas. Wages pretty flat at the moment, but managed to make up some hours this week (to cover for the time off for hospital) and will be in tomorrow to try and bank some overtime, we need it!
Decided to keep hold of the gold for the time being as have a hunch prices will rise shortly. Did take it to another local place, but again paltry offer.

Hehe - it does become a bit of a death march - I tended to skim over the sums
My copy of The Millionaire Next Door arrived, feeling it will be a lot more accessible.
Enjoy your weekend SD.0 -

I'll be honest, I saw the first equation and got the same feeling I did at 11 in school when I stared at a blackboard (age showing there) and it might as well have been written in Chinese.

What is the Millionaire Next Door?
TMND is an American book but applies equally here. To paraphrase, the people who look like millionaire's are all in debt, the real millionaires live in nice, ordinary houses and wear the US equivalent of M&S suits. Excellent read, especially the bit about not giving your kids money :rotfl:.
Can I also recommend Rich Dad, Poor Dad (1&2). I can honestly say if I had read these years ago I would already be retired. Thought provoking (especially the bit about clipping coupons to save pennies rather than spend the time researching investments

The book with the equations is Early Retirement Extreme.
Will look at those you mentioned now, thanks!0 -
Just read in the Express that we might have the worse winter for 100 years...?! Snow by the end of November. I bloody hope not.0
