A little update as it has been a while.

I changed gas and electric on the 10th of October to First Utility and had a bit of a disaster, Scottish Power took their payment for October, but also First Utility took theirs too, so that was a bit unplanned and meant that I was £116 down on the month, but a week later I got 2 cheques for being in credit with Scottish Power for £227, so disaster averted for a while phew! It meant that I finished the month £1.87 in credit, so overall I am pleased with that, and once the cheques clear this month will be a bit healthier. I have been paid today and I am thankful for that. :T

I bought another sack of spuds, the last one lasted about 6 weeks so all potatoes this month came to £10 which I think is really good. While I was at the farm shop I asked about the prices for half a lamb, it will be £75, which is a big outlay, but is much cheaper than the supermarket, and it means we can have lamb again, I do miss it, but I won't pay £5 for 2 tiny little pieces, I am hoping this way we will have a lot more meat for the money. He said he can do half a pig for £80, so I will save for that too and then the freezer will be a lot fuller. I am not sure about the prices for beef I shall ask next time I am there. I asked for contributions from the kids and my son gave me £10 last night and my daughter has offered £20, (she earns more than her brother and wants to pay more)so I won't have too much to find. :j

This evening when I got home I had a letter from work, I knew it was going to be the one telling me I was not matched to any posts in the new organisation, so I have been preparing myself for it, well I opened it and to my great surprise, I have been matched to not one but 28 different jobs  that I am suitable for, all I have to do is state my preference, I am a bit shocked really as I had prepared for the worst, thinking I would not be matched, so tomorrow I shall spend the day looking at all of the different job descriptions and try to decide which ones I favour. I have to admit I am in a bit of a spin about it all. But hugely relieved, I had not realised just how worried I was about it all. I actually feel quite sick :o

Oh and I have checked the dates, CL Finance have 2 weeks left to sort out the mess of the 6 payments late marker on my credit file and issue a default dated 2008, or the complaint form is on its way to the financial ombudsman...They have been warned that this is what I intend to do, so it should come as no surprise when it lands on their doormat.

Great news on the job front :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks Helen, I never thought I would be in this position so I have a lot of thinking to do, I don't want to make the wrong choice. At least I will have a job though so that is the biggest bonus of all.

I shall update once I make my mind up :)

  • So pleased to hear the great news about your job- its wonderful.

I hope there's a few job descriptions you like the look of.

I really want to look at comparing energy suppliers but because I am hoping to move soonish (whenever we finally sell the house) then I dont want to by tied in.

Look forward to hearing more of your updates Heffi1/

Thanks everyone, I am now sat at my desk surrounded by reams of paper and starting the process of whittling them down, there are a few that I will discount because of distance, be back soon as no doubt it is going to do my head in and I will need a diversion from time to time :)
