  • Afternoon everyone

weather has been awful today, so no washing dried outside like I wanted.

I have just finished off my meal plan for Sept (I can't believe it's nearly Sept already!!) and worked out my shopping lists ready to go shopping after work.
Also have a list drawn up for kids going back to school, we managed to get one of the college books off ebay last night and will pick it up on Friday when we go and get the rest of the school/college bits and pieces.

I have defrosted some mince, but not decided what to do with it yet. Think mince and dumplings could be on the cards with this awful weather.

    Morning peeps.
Been MIA as I had audacity to have another weeks holiday, this time in Devon.
While we were away though H found out he is unemployed as of end of September, despite all the promises made by certain members of staff he's been shafted. Not going to go into it but those of you on FB please don't mention it on my wall.....nosey family on there ;)
So pressure on H to find a job......if he can't then I shall have to start looking :eek: not what I envisaged when I became a SAHM at the start of this year but needs must and all that. Crossing everything that H find a fantastic job, better than the crummy place he just left. So will be living in true OS style, he has a good payout but will be stashing as many pennies as possible to add to the pot.

Today will mostly be washing, washing and more washing  I have a mahoosive pile on the kitchen floor!!! I've got to pick up a parcel from post off. Really need to get washed and dressed then :o

Sorry no real OS but am sure that will kick in at some point ;)

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

Sorry to hear about H's Job loss. I hope that he finds something soon. Could he become self employed? Is there anything down that line he could do ?
    Maybe something to think about.

    Good luck

NJ - Stupid man, I'm sure your DS dosen't upset people like he does:mad:
Lou - How long hve you got left now ?
Bitsy - Sorry to hear about the job.....why do they wait until your away having a nice time , Hope something comes up for him x
Headlight - Watch out for coccodisis (sp?) if they like mud.... Put some ACV in their water.

PF cleaning done...now for my own

    Re coccodisis,

That has always worried me me. I do Use Apple cider vinegar In there water, I also use a good wormier every month In there water too.
But I do still worry about it. More this year as the three new hens were only 11 weeks old when they went out. Even know I had them in there own part In the under cover run. It was still a worry for me as mud and germs do move and with all the rain we have had this year. Still young and old all seem to be fine.

    Hello folks!
First post after lurking for a while... Having a truly OS day today (after a sneaky lie in!) making apple chutney, as our tree is producing way more than we can eat, popped to sainsburys for other ingredients earlier, with a slight detour to the charity shop on the way (2 books for 40p and a skirt for my niece 20p!!!) also making a roman blind for my kitchen, busy busy. (must ensure no chutney ends up near roman blind....) am a self employed curtain maker, but haven't had any work for absolutely ages, things were getting a bit tight, but have been offered a permanent job which I'm starting tomorrow... So trying to get as much done before a new routine starts.

Thanks for letting me join in!!!

    Emma x

    Afternoon all
Watch it Headlight, you are living dangerously.
I have a tray of sunblush tomatoes in the oven, also my favourite meal, a recipe my dad gave me, red pepprs halved, cherry tomato cut in to & put in the pepper, 2 anchovy fillets in a cross shape over each pepper half, cook 'til it's all soft & the pepper skins start to blacken. It's yummy, the anchovies turn to mush & add a lovely salty tang to the dish.
Tea tonight is meatloaf with HG potatoes & HG runners.
It's rained all day here, from persistant to torrential, so no watering for me today.
    Hugs Hester
