  • Hello folks!
First post after lurking for a while... Having a truly OS day today (after a sneaky lie in!) making apple chutney, as our tree is producing way more than we can eat, popped to sainsburys for other ingredients earlier, with a slight detour to the charity shop on the way (2 books for 40p and a skirt for my niece 20p!!!) also making a roman blind for my kitchen, busy busy. (must ensure no chutney ends up near roman blind....) am a self employed curtain maker, but haven't had any work for absolutely ages, things were getting a bit tight, but have been offered a permanent job which I'm starting tomorrow... So trying to get as much done before a new routine starts.

Thanks for letting me join in!!!

  • Hi all,

Trying hard to be OS today, am menu planning and doing an online shop, trying to trim this budget ASAP. Boys are enjoying being back at school, OH is still down south, he'll be home for the weekend. :)

I am decorating the hall ATM, had a bit of a brain storm on Sunday which ended in a bit of a DIY disaster, but I seem to have it sorted now. This cake decorating skills came in useful after all.

    Hope all are well,

    Jackie xxx

having very senior moment today - was convinced I'd already posted...I had, yesterday!!
Bitsy - so sorry to hear about your DH - hope something turns up quickly for him.
Nij - furious on your son's behalf! How ignorant can some people be? My DS seems to be settling, but he's being advised to have inpatient time for MH issues...not keen! I was surprised, as things seem so much more styled now the stress and uncertainty around the move have ended.
have tried to catch up on office type stuff today, with some success...
Loads still to deal with tho' - and not keen to carry on!
Day started fine, but just had really heavy shower. Best success today has been finally emptying my ironing basket - at the bottom were items from the cruise last October!!!!
DH out this evening so i have some veg to eat up in a ratatouille I think, with maybe some gnocchi as well Lunch??? ham and biscuits probably - cooked gammon at w/e and have frozen loads but some left over still.
Trying to see how money will last this month...need to be careful - again!!
Hope you all have a good day today. take care.

  • Chutney is done (although was only enough for 2 jars, was hoping it'd do more, so will be making another batch or 2 over the weekend)

About to start on the blind.....

Yankee Candle now working overtime to get rid of the 'spicy vinegar' smell :rotfl:
  • It is bucketing down here and DH is not home from work yet, I have prepared him some lunch for when he gets in though.
I had to clean the water filter jug, because there was green algae on it  a couple of baby bottle sterilising tablets did the trick in half an hour :D

Jackie our little darlinks don't go back to school until next Wednesday :(

Not able to get much done as waiting for AF delivery and news of when shower tray will arrive so plumber, electrician etc can finish our bathroom. It was supposed to have arrived yesterday so builder can carry on with work today but no word so far.

Used up some YS carrots, home grown onions, potato and lentils to make a huge pot of soup which me and DH had for lunch. Defrosted YS chicken pieces and going to make chicken and mushroom puff pastry pies for tonight.

If it stops raining will nip out for fresh mushrooms and leeks and potatoes to make leek and potato soup tomorrow as weather is so miserable just now.

    Bitsy

Sending positive job vibes to husband.

    Nij

Fuming on your behalf. Can't carers report the man (using word loosely) for harassment?

Chicken pieces simmering and hope to get a good stock for soup tomorrow. Smells good and will strip meat off bone once cool (and keep quiet that it is not chicken breast meat). ;)

    Hugs to all
