Im petrified of spiders - but I wont kill one

cos the flies cause much more misery and spiders kill them

So I might avoid a bath till some one is about to put the spider out but I certainly refuse to kill one

Now flies???? I cant kill those filthy creatures fast enough, and as a dog owner its not easy when spray isnt the option

I'd rather have spiders than flies! ..Or scorpions, or centipedes

We've got tons. Whenever the kids point them out I nod and smile and say "that's great". There's a particularly large one hanging out underneath the toilet and my son has finally stopped asking me to get rid of it.
  • Someone said it above - the "live and thrive" proverb. My nan was scared witless of spiders but even she left them alone because she hated flies and daddy longlegs' more!

So the occasional spider can bite and that could get infected. My cat could scratch me and that could get infected. I could catch myself on a nail and that could get infected. Not a good argument.

Well done to those of you who have no fear, and also those who do and have not passed it to their children. Those who do, I suggest trying to get rid of it, there's loads of courses for all kinds of phobia around (and the tutors are apparently more sympathetic than me ;) ).

  • The cat is staying within 10 feet of me this month. We had a huge one two nights ago, it was the biggest I've ever seen. Thankfully I've got enough spray to kill them when the cat can't be bothered.
