I don't think it kills them, but apparently spiders don't like citronella, so it might be worth spraying or dabbing some around the place?

Scientifically it's nonsense but many old wives (and this middle-aged spinster), swear by conkers around the house. I put one in every corner last year and didn't see a single spider :T

A tin of deathlac or Raid but the red can and spray around any openings to you house ie doors, windows, air vents etc, we use them and do not seem to get many spiders at all.
Also clear any plants away from your outside walls so your leaving a gap between the border and house
Treat other's how you like to be treated.

    Empty dustbuster.

    Hoover up spider.

Empty dustbuster again (somewhere away from your house).

We did this with a giant (palm-sized) one the other night hanging above our bed, and it scarpered off. The little ones I don't mind.

If you hoover them up, can they crawl back out again?

My cat is very handy as he eats them!

    Get one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brainstorm-Spider-Catcher/dp/B000G04RDK/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1346228221&sr=1-1

    1) You really shouldn't be killing spiders, for all the reasons mentioned above. I know it's easy to say, but for what it's worth I am terrified too.

    2) It's a quick, easy, efficient way of removing them. And it's much more satisfying to see them scurry away from the house rather than killing them somehow then having to do the clean up job.

    3) You extend your arm, and the device is pretty long, meaning you never even have to get close to them.

In fact, I'm tempted to buy another for the house, and use my current one for the garage! So handy, and means I can safely get rid of spiders without needing to even get close to them.

We seem to have a fly problem. Since these last 2 weeks I am beginning to seem then all over my house. They are really freaking me out. What is the best way to kill them and get rid of them. I've done a quick google search and a lot of people reccomend some spray call Kybosh spray. Does anyone know if this is actually any good?

I never kill spiders, they don't bother me in the least. We had one that made its home in the corner of our living room, we called it Webster :D It coincided with a plague of daddy long legs, and was brilliant, better than fly paper!! There is one on the ceiling as I write, any within reach gets scooped up and put out the window. :)

This is what I put on the thread in DT, I couldn't be bothered writing it out again :D

You don't have a spider problem, you have a phobia problem.

Spiders are harmless, and killing them is totally unnecessary. In fact, they are better than harmless, as they kill things that will harm you, such as flies carrying revolting infections.

Not only that, but as a way of getting rid of insects they're much safer than spraying loads of chemicals around, the long-term effects of which are unknown on the human body. (Though this is clearly not the case in places like Australia).
