Oh God here we go again! I was revolted enough by the last spider thread (if you'll pardon the pun!) - please don't give that blinking Bazster the opportunity to scare the living bejeezus out of me!0

It's house spider mating season so that's why you're seeing the males go in search of the females.
Big !!!!ers this year though aren't they?
A friend swears by these sticky traps to catch them

and some others say putting conkers in the corner of every room deters them.
I'm afraid they get blitzed with fly spray in our house which half kills them then hubby removes them, l'm terrified of the horrible things. Hubby is too but that's love for you.
Happy moneysaving all.0 -
I use a rolled up Daily Mail - there are other newspapers that you can use though!! i have to roll it up to about three feet long, attach hair bobbles to keep it together, then kill the spider with that. The older i get the less scared i think i am....0

Not at all MSE, but these definitely work:

I bought two of these three years ago when we had a particularly bad spider problem in the house.
Since then, almost no spiders at all - and the odd one we do get seem very dopey and unable to move fast, so are much easier to get rid of.
Defintely worth a try - and they have a full money back guarantee if they don't work for you.
I don't have any connection with the company by the way - just a very happy customer!0 -
I use my husband.
Or the hoover if hes out! I did have one of those spider catcher things but theres no way Im getting within a foot of one so I dont use it!
I use my kids.......they know there is a spider about when their crazy mother starts making weird and wonderful screaming noises :rotfl:
Middle son won't come near them but youngest is an ace spider catcher and putter outer while the daft cat sits there looking interested but too lazy to do anything about itWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Use humane traps please, the spiders did nothing to you, and they keep the house clear of flies, and other little nasties.
Im usually the one in the house who has to get the little !!!!!!s, but I just put them outside, they wont hurt you.0 -

We're relatively lucky here in that most of our spiders aren't harmful or poisonous. Still don't like the look of them though.. and the way they move!0 -
I`m terrified of (enter you own word - spiders, beetles, monkeys, kittens, people of other faiths, sexual persuasions and colour....). How can I kill them?
I despair.Debt September 2020 BIG FAT ZERO!
Now mortgage free, sort of retired, reducing and reusing and putting money away for grandchildren...0 -
There are many things in life to 'despair' about.. getting rid of a few pesky spiders isn't one of them0

If you get some lemongrass essential oil. and put a few drops on the entrances to your home, bottom of the curtains, a little in the water you wash the floor with, you won't see them at all - spiders can't stand the stuff! Don't ask me why though - I have no idea0
