Looks like I will be having a stuffed pepper whole (well cut in half) I usually sliced and freeze any odds and ends left of peppers ,but having three I think I will stuff one, make sweet potato and pepper soup with the other one and jus slice and freeze the third.I may just ask my friend to lunch with me to use up the stuffed pepper one I really do have a quite small appetite as does she so if we have half one each with salad and cheese that should does for lunch, with yogurt for pudding,:)
One reason why I never buy a bag of them,my freezer hasn't got a lot of room at the moment.
By the way I do slice and dice mushrooms which go perfectly in the freezer in a bag then get a handful at a time into quiche's, omelettes, soups or stews fine. Not much good for frying though.0 -

The ones which are carved are sold for that purpose. They're not grown for eating - I've found that variety to be tasteless and stringy and only fit for throwing out once carved.0 -
Can you freeze mushrooms - for making soup with?
I have done in the past and they've been fine for cooking. Our local supermarket once was selling off the big punnets for 10p each so I bought a whole load and chopped them. They're never usually that generous - 10p off is usually the best they do.0 -

We're the same here Mar with another soopa market who has increased their 'minimum spend' by another fifteen quid or you pay full whack for delivery, regardless of the day or time
I have noticed though, how many stores do a version of the Mega 6 or whatever it's called, which is really handy for me cuz we don't have an @ldi around here :TFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I can get to Aldi in summertime but not driving all that way on that twisty wee back road in this snow. With us it's a question of time & motion v stamina - it makes sense to do everything in one journey but I get too knackered halfway and always end up saying soddit that'll do. LOL!
Going back to menu planning, it works a lot better. And things that do two or more meals in different disguises.0 -
Ahh I'd forgotten about this thread, glad to see it bumped again.0
