I boil and mash the swede, freeze in portions, similar with potatoes, either mash portioned or roast, carrots and parsnips I just freeze as is.thinking on I think the potatoes were a new potato type, I would cook partially, I seem to recall freezing some once and they were mushy and very watery with no prep.Do I need it or just want it.0

We froze carrots in chunks recently but then defrosted and roasted them and they weren't nearly as nice as freshly roasted carrots - the texture had changed.
We've had more success with leeks, where freezing seemed to intensify the flavour.
Don't think I'd bother to freeze potatoes as we don't eat a lot of mash.0 -

So far this week I have mashed and froze swede and potatoes.
Diced and froze 2kg of onions.
Ribboned and froze 3 cabbages.
Grated and froze 2 bags of carrots.
Battoned (sp?) 1 bag of parsnips and 1 bag of carrots.
Froze 2 broccoli in florets.
They all freeze really well I find.£36/£240

Any idea what to do with a couple of kilos of carrots - other than soup and stew?
Thankies. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Mash them? U can freeze it if you need to.
I can, but I'd like to something slightly more interesting and eat them. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

The only interesting thing I have done with carrots was a Thai carrot salad that I found on the internet0
