Those veg prices certainly help with my food budget. So far I have chopped a batch of each up and had a few stir fries.
Today I'm going to prep some batches of mashed potatoes for the freezer. I'll also ribbon a few cabbages and freeze them.
I'm going to dice a few bags of onions as well.
They all freeze well and it will save time once the holiday weekend is out of the way also.

I'm going to meal plan for the next two weeks based around them. Any meal ideas would be great :D

Yes, I bought some veggies there yesterday at that price. The supermarkets have got into a 'war' with each other over veg for the Easter weekend. Am not expecting it to last though!

Good to go while it lasts and grab some for freezing ..
  • Just had parsnip and apple soup for lunch, 1 bag S6 parsnips 25p, a litre of vegetable stock 10p, a diced sad looking apple from the fruit bowl, a diced onion S6 worked out to 3p curry powder or cumin to taste and 150ml milk or a dash of cream if you have it in10p.
Did five good bowls for 48p which works out to 9.6p a portion.

    Very tasty :D

Just made a cottage pie for tomorrow's dinner:

    1/5 of a £2 2.5kg bag of mince: 40p
    1/3 of a 10p bag of tatties: say 4p
All stock and seasoning freebies from work :j

Should do two of us for tomorrow's dinner and enough for Rax the lurcher's dinner on Monday :p

    44p well spent :T

    Morning all,

I've been and bought the 25p veg from Aldi. I want to freeze some of the potatoes, carrots, parsnips and suede as there's only me to eat them. Do I need to part cook them first?

    Thanks
