Guinea Pigs are in for a treat with the Kale this week. I'll get a couple. I usually pay £1 for 200 grams.

I've still got 2 swedes left in the garage. I think the only thing I will get out of these is the Butternut Squash, I find it great as a roasted veg or made into soup. I also like the use the scooped out bottom roasted and use it as an eating bowl with chilli in.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

Yep, have noticed loads of bargains in my local Co-op lately. And I take full advantage considering I can walk there in less than 5 minutes whereas my nearest Aldi stores are almost 20 miles away.

It's actually quite funny because when I do get chance to shop at Aldi, I take advantage to stock up so I'm one of the rare ones that has an overflowing trolley load to put through checkout. They always comment on this but are more than happy to know I've traveled to shop there

is it just me or is anyone else feeling sad for all the pumpkins on the tv essentially going down the swannee ? i think it is such a waste and a shame they are grown transported to shops paid for and transported home...then hacked and slung a few days later when they go mouldy...doesnt seem right to chuck good food in the name of fun

im not buying one this year...havent told the kids yet...bah humbug or whatever the halloween equiv is

You don't have to waste the pumpkin - use it for anything you'd use butternut squash for. Much cheaper too.

I've bought a medium one from Morries for 50p. I'll be making at least 2 or 3 meals from it - pumkin soup; pumpkin & spinach curry. Not sure what else yet but loads on recipes on line.
