In some major trouble

Ok I've come here for some advice really and ask you not to judge me as I know what I've done is bad.

Basically I've got into some trouble with some really nasty people to the tune of £4000. I don't have it. I'm thinking about taking out payday loans to that sum, paying the firm I owe money to and then leaving the country.

I have a relative in Australia who has asked if I'd like to go and live there for 2 years and will help to find me a job etc so I can start again. After the two years I also have a relative in France who I will plan to live near for 4 years after that. By that time will my debt be statute barred?

Also will I be able to come back to the uk for a week every year to visit family etc? Or will the 6 years start again?

Again I know this is not an honourable thing to do but simply would like to know what's the worst I can expect as a result of doing this?

Thanks

Sell everything you can to pay the debt you owe.

Can you not ask your friends in france and australia to lend you the money and then offer to pay them back by helping them out with stuff.

Why did you get in to bed with the devil/nasty people ?

What did you spend the 4k on ?

Im not judging you, just interested why you would get into bed with the knee breakers.

Whats to say the knee breakers track you down to AUS and ask you to pay them back ? For all you know they could have connections over there.
  • I Had a gambling problem. I don't own anything of value. Certainly nowhere near the amount I owe.

I just want to know if this is viable really, I've tried researching the statute barred thing but can't really get my head around it. Also not sure if I can visit uk either?

You got any family over here who can help out ?
  • I have family but none that have that kind of money to lend me. Not to mention I only have 3 weeks to come up with this money. I really do need to find out the consequences of doing this? Any idea?

who do you owe money to?
  • You say that you are £4k in debt with no assets - how do you propose to pay for the flight to Australia?
  • A flight to Australia is £520 one way.

Anyone know the consequences of this?

I myself would be tempted to take the payday loan out if this is the last resort....do you work? Don't you need to show proof of wage ? I would also make every effort to pay the payday loans back, even if in another country you can leave your bank account open and deposit money from abroad. It is not fair to borrow 4k without any intentions of paying it back, and dishonest.

Well in terms of emmigration. It's fudging confusing, but I believe that if you have a family member who is already a citizen of that country, who pledges to sponsor you then that can help you obtain a visa. As you won't be a burden on the state. I don't think its as simple as just buying a ticket. You won't have papers to get a job, rent a house or claim benefits. If you go to the authorities then they will just deport you back to the UK.

However, you cannot run away for ever. You need to face up and deal with the problem.

If you only owe £4000, I would sell the car, laptop, television, furniture, ask friends and family for a loan.

If you owe a bank / credit card firm. Then seeing as the world is so connected these days, that they will find you. (Technology makes the world a much smaller place) If you try to trick them by false identity, then that's called fraud and eventually it will come back to haunt you. The debt won't go away and if found gulity of fraud, perhaps a jail sentence?

If you owe a certain Italain crime family (forum won't allow the name!) or other organised gang money, then they might track you down regardless or how much or how far and make an example of you, I belive they call it "Omerta"? (or have I watched too many movies?)
