Hurrah! :j Wow, it's REALLY HAPPENING! :j
Enjoy your last weeks at work... hope everyone is happy for you, even if you are moving to the Dark Side!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I know! It's really real! I'm quite terrified now to be honest! :eek:Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Oh not really - she's not mean really she's just a flibbertigibbet and does very little for the hefty salary she's on. Like I said, I saw a bit of a different side to her and she did seem genuinely quite sad, which made me feel a bit sad, but not as sad as I'd feel being given my P60 in 12 months' time, which I think is on the cards for our team.
How are you feeling Lara?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Now, getting back to clothes for a second
- Thanks Tootallulah for the Cos recommendation, I've had a peep at their site and it's all very stylish although I'm not sure all those pastelly shades are for me, they might make me look like the walking dead
Love your buys Poddle, there are some lovely things on the Boden site but alas, the things I'm drawn to are still pretty pricey even in the sale! Always the case...
I ended up returning 10 items to asos and only keeping 1 - good news on the money front but not so much on the wardrobe one. I'm going to have to try and look smart without the aid of pencil skirts/dresses because they do not suit me and my evidently enormous bum and hips. Some dresses I tried on must have been at least two sizes too big on the bust and belly but ridiculously tight on the hips and bum - it was quite depressing really
Trotted off to Next on Saturday to buy some of the tailored stuff I'd spotted during the week, and the bliddy sale was on! My stuff wasn't in the sale but there was no full price stuff out so, not to be downhearted, I had a rifle through the sale rails and pulled out about 10 items to try, only to find that they close the fitting rooms on sale day, but are happy to offer a full refund within 15 days *roll eyes* - I wonder how many people panic buy stuff on sale day and never take it back and it sits unworn for months before being put in the charity shop? Anyway given that I haven't been refunded from asos yet I thought buying another £150 worth of stuff that probably won't fit would be silly so ended up coming home empty handed and disappointed. I may or may not have fed the shopping monster on stationery in WH Smith.

Yay for telling them you are leaving. Does it make it seem more real?
What a pain with all the clothes shopping.0 -
Very annoying about the clothes! We went into Next on Saturday for OH but pretty much turned around as soon as we saw the sale was on, it's just madness and they seem to pull out all the rubbish from the back room on sale day!
Hope they go back to normal soon enough and you can get your nice tailored clothes!
Have you checked out Long tall Sally? There's a sale on right now and it might be good for some basics/mix and matchy stuff even though it's still fairly pricey.
I have the hips and bum issue too.Mainly my hips, I don't mind my bum as I tell myself that I'd rather be 'bootylicious' than have no bum, but my hips... I could live without these monsters! All my weight just seems to settle there and it makes shopping for clothes so difficult. I can't wear anything without a defined waist as it just grabs my lumps and looks terrible, I can't wear pencil skirts as they're positively groaning around my hips yet gaping on my waist and peplum dresses? Oh yeah, way to draw even more attention to my worst feature!
It's fair to say that clothes shopping more often than not ends up with me in a strop!
Glad you fed the monster with stationery though... I looooooove stationery!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hoorah! Welcome to the leaving-work-soon-club Tete
I'm so pleased you've done the deed, I was getting quite worried on your behalf about how it would be taken!!
DD and I had our leaving party on Saturday and I was given a £15 WHSmith gift card, looking forward to buying heaps of post-its0 -
Well I've told my manager now and my project leader (who is lovely!) - she was so nice about it and said she's really happy for me, also said she thinks I'm sensible [getting out now] and I think she's right. Having a meeting tomorrow aft to discuss handover. They won't be replacing me so annoyingly I've saved the uni a nice chunk of money by leaving but hey ho. Colleagues will get a shock when they realise my workload.
Kitty I got a £5 off a £12 spend in WHS last week so I'll be going back again on Saturday (I couldn't carry all the ringbinders I needed so had to go back anyway - nice to have a voucher!). What sort of stuff are you stocking up on?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
