Yes on the drive between school and town for my optician appt I think I've decided on teaching them the words to La Cucaracha in Spanish - a bit silly but hopefully fun! Presuming they won't want 40 of us all doing power points etc as it'll take forever but can prepare the words quickly on one slide just in case... Wah how scary?!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Sounds like a plan. How many of you have to do this 5 minute lesson? How do they know you're not all going to come in and teach the words to La Cucaracha?! Maybe have a back-up (La Bamba??) just in case!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

La cucaracha sounds brilliant
Wish I could be a fly on the wall for that!
Just logged on to student finance and........they've sent me a declaration for the loans/grants!!!!!!!!? Confused.com, so I'll sign and return asap as it's looking good!0 -
Good idea to do a song, Tete. I think there's a version of heads, shoulders, knees & toes in Spanish. Fun, but crazy hard to fit all the words in
La cucuracha will be ace!
Has your Asos stuff come yet? I had a bit of a Boden spree recently - first time! - and it's been brill for work stuff. I bought a couple of dresses, 60s-style trousers and striped tops. A bit expensive, but really nice quality/ good tailoring and you can always get 20-30% off and there's a sale on now. Ok, sales pitch over.
Hope tomorrow goes really wellLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Ah yes, DD and I learned it at her Spanish club at school - head shoulders, knees and dos pieds
We also sang another body parts song to the tune of oh my darling Clementine something about a face 'rondita'
Blimey, I'm good aren't I ......don't answer that, lol0 -
Hi girls
Haha - Tete, epaules, genoux et pieds was my backup idea, but didn't need it - think it went OK - and why not make a t!t of myself in front of everyone on the second day eh?
I think I may have found a kindred spirit, a Spanish girl also doing MFL but in another school - we both turned up in cat print blouses this morning!
Eek Poddle now I'm eyeing up the Boden website - there's some nice stuff there! What did you buy? My asos order will be here tomorrow - exciting! Also discovered yesterday that Next do a brilliant-looking tall range of tailoring so going to have proper look in there soon - only tried a jacket on yesterday but it fitted like a total dream. I don't think average height people fully comprehend what it's like for every piece of clothing to fit not quite right - the waist too high on dresses etc - so it was so nice! My plan is to buy expensive but like you say P, good quality stuff which fits properly. If I feel slightly self conscious in something it'll be magnified 20x when I'm stood up in front of a room of teenagers.
Anyway listen to me waffling on about clothesFeeling equal parts overwhelmed/worn out/inspired now so going to snuggle up in bed with a couple of teaching books - day off tomorrow and I intend to sleep in (oh and then sew a flippin dress for the meet!)
Good news about the money Kitty - don't ask questions just get the thing signed and sent off!! xWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Glad it went well Tete! Enjoy your day off today, I think you've earned it!
Good news about finding a decent tall section in Next too! The only time I've experienced tall girl shopping problems was when I was clothes shopping on holiday in Mexico, the people are all so dinky over there that the clothes are made accordingly, I felt like a giant!
I'd love to buy lots of lovely stuff from Boden (my Mum always has the latest catalogue to tempt me with!) but sadly cannot stetch my purse that far!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Happy day off! Hope you've had a chance to relax and aren't frantically sewing away
I totally know what you mean about well-fitting clothes, though I have the complete opposite problemTrousers are a nightmare! And even tops and dresses always have a baggy back which wouldn't happen if my shoulders were a few inches higher! This summer I've bought petite cropped trousers which are *still* pretty much normal length on me
So, god bless Boden petite, this is what I bought: One of these, some of these (in navy), this (in grey and black) and now a shopping basket full of sale bargains!
Aw, Birdie, this reminds me that I've never shopped there before cos it's mumsy! But they do have cute kid's things, so maybe your mum will treat you?
Tete, how's the countdown to your last day going? Exciting that you're going to hand in your notice next week. Huzzah!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Tete, have you looked at Cos for your school stuff? it looks great on the tall and rangy, if you like their style which isn't everyone's cup of tea but I love it.0

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod I just told my boss I'm leaving! Phew phew phew, such a big relief to have done it! Now need to tell colleague which in some ways is harder because he's more a pal really and I feel like I've snuck about a bit and also because I've done my fair share of whinging about teachers over the years and now here I am going off to BE one :undecided
It was weird chatting to boss, I actually liked her a lot more than I have for the last year or so, she said a few things to me privately about how unhappy she was to have been moved over to this office and so on. I can understand that she's meant to keep a professional demeanour about these things but it would have meant a lot to me and the girls who ended up leaving to know that she was on our side even if she couldn't show it. Hey ho.
Now I can start doing things like getting HR to work out holidays owing, leaving date and so on. Boss mentioned something about an eight week notice period  - I had been 100% sure it was four weeks so need to seek this out... Then think about a handover...
ETA - found it, it's definitely one month - phewee!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
