You're right Lara's Queen of the Smileys!
Eek, nits - I haven't thought about those for ages! I actually don't think it's as much of a problem in Secondary, plus you're not bending over the kids as much or gathered in close to hear them read or even being hugged by them, so fingers crossed I should be OK!
Just been on a majorly boring conference call for an hour and a quarter with a load of ridiculously inept people, it was really grim til we got to the end and we set the date for the next one at the end of September and I realised that I don't have to take part in any more ever! :jWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oooh that must have felt great Tete! :j
Not running the risk of catching nits once a term must be a major plus to working in a secondary! :TOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Well we have another development in the ongoing saga of my notice-handing-in. I was going to do it on Mon 22nd July but my manager is now going on holiday on Fri 19th for three weeks. It would be pretty bad form of me to hand it in on the 19th do you think? So I'll try and do it early in the w/c 15th, depending on when I can get a moment alone with her. That gives them 7 weeks in total and 5 weeks before my last day. Looking at how people have altered their leave etc, it seems as though SOMEONE will be in the office at all times, but between now and mid-September there's often only one person. Oh well.
Including today I only have 25 more working days!!!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Tete, just caught up on your news, congrats! How I get so far behind on life is beyond me
Hope the next 25 days go quickly for you!
How is the clothes shopping going? Asda has some really nice cheap things (90% of my work wardrobe is Asda!) saw this and thought of you0 -
The way they leave you do all the work I would be tempted to say leave it til the 19th
but I'm not that mean. 25 days is nothing. It will fly by. Good luck x

Ooooh 25 days left! That's fab! :T I'd be tempted to hand my notice in on the 19th, but I *am* that mean!
But yeah, it'll be for the best to hand it in earlier and explain that you brought it forward to fit in with her holiday.

$*£$*£!!!** student finance......they are now saying they have all the information they need....however my name is STILL incorrect. So, I called them and the dingbat on the phone couldn't confirm or not whether they have received my passport, and when I queried why the amounts I'm claiming page has changed (to my detriment), he said firstly "don't pay much attention to the online system, it's usually wrong" and then told me that my child benefit information had been rejected and that a letter was on its way to me!!
Blooming useless bunch of student finance assessors!!! So, yet more documentation to fly back and forth.
Only 13 days left of work for meAnd the last 3 will be easy-peasy, as the students and most teaching staff will be out on trips and we finish earlier on the last day of tem, yup even earlier than the 2:30pm I currently finish at
Hope you're all enjoying the glorious sunshine x0 -
Hello hello!
Wah Kitty - have you got any further with them? Must be very stressful for you! At least it's nearly the end of term, you must be looking forward to your hols
This is my last day at work this week, two days at my induction tomorrow and Thurs, plus little niggly things late on - opticians and hair appointments, then Friday is freeI need to sort my car insurance and phone up the pension people to see what happens when I leave work but hopefully it'll be a chance to get some sewing done and maybe see some sunshine if the weather's still nice
I also need to write my notice letter as that needs handing in next week. Not overly confident on what to include -it's been a while since I wrote one! Short and to the point I guess?
Just ordered £320 worth of stuff from asos  - not as bad as it sounds, a few of those items are duplicates in two sizes/colours - can't see me keeping more than £100 worth. I'll feel better when I know I have some smarter clothes at my disposal though!
Just done some counting and it's now less than 8 weeks til September   :eek:Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
