Guess what?!? Uni2 has finally decided, in their infinite wisdom, that they would like to interview me after all! That 3rd version of the personal statement did the trick :)

Time to get back to reading the TES and wading through the national curriculum, lol.

    That's great news Kittikins! :T
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Ah Kitty that's fab, I've been wondering about you! When's the interview? Keeping everything crossed :D

Wow it's been a while since I updated on here hasn't it? Not an awful lot to say Health, Wealth and Happiness-wise ... I have a meeting at the school next Weds evening so should hopefully find out a bit more about my next steps then. I've been jotting down ideas of things I want to have done/prepared by September so need to put that little lot into some kind of coherent order and formulate a POA (thanks for all your input guys :kisses3:).

Had a lovely weekend in Ireland catching up with lovely friend and doing a hard run, it was just the break I needed I think. Came back to work and it's just as carppy as always, I really am the only person who pulls their weight. That light at the end of the tunnel is keeping me focused though!! :)

I can't wait for the interview, but sadly no idea yet when it is, they said they'd let me know today but as yet, no email, grrrrr. Sometime in the next fortnight is all I know! Just have to work out someone to have DD for a sleepover so I can get before.

I am trying hard not to be too excited about it..... :)

Wow, I don't know if I could ever be excited for an interview, whatever the job (in fact, the better the job, the more I'd want it so the worse I'd be!).

Can your OH not take care of DD for the evening/morning?

Any news Kitty or they still keeping you in suspenders?

Augh, I woke up this morning all fresh as a daisy and motivated to Get Stuff Done, but after a day at work the inertia has set in and I CBA - gah!

I did go through my charity/ebay pile at the weekend and basically put all of it outside in a charity bag this morning - for what I would have got, it's not worth the wrangle with the post office and inflated post prices. The only stuff I have left that I don't want to just give away is shoes which I've bought but never worn :wall: and they're going to be expensive to send for sure. I'm wondering whether to list them cheapish with a hefty P&P charge or start them off more expensive but with free P&P ... thinking the latter might be more psychologically appealing..? I've definitely got the spring cleaning bug so going to try tomotivate myself to have a good whizz around tonight before Corrie starts.

Also - almost finished my rainbow blanket for Achievement April! The last bit is fiddly and monotonous though :(

Hi Tete, my interview is next Tuesday :) I'm feeling less stressed out by it all at the moment, as I had a good chat this afternoon to someone who has a place at Uni2 for September! She made me feel much calmer about it all.

Is there a local selling site to you on FB? I'm planning on trying to get rid of some tut on there - just keep on putting off taking photos.

Hi Kitty - sounds like you can get some good insider knowledge of Uni2 - hope the interview prep is going well :)

There are local selling sites I think but they tend to be for more bulky and baby/child centric things, not sure my cork wedges will fit in really :undecided I'm thinking of offering the free postage and adding that expense into the starting price. Might try and get them listed Sunday because next weekend is the bank hol which will give me a bit of time to get them packaged up.

I've finally bit the bullet and put my mileage claims in since December. Had been holding out for the tax thing to get sorted but doesn't look like it will - and anything is better than nothing. Makes my eyes water that my £644 claim will come back to me as £515 though

Anyway. Never mind that. I went along to a welcome meeting for my SCITT last night and now it all feels very real - I'm so excited! I was expecting about 8 people in a little room but there was a lecture theatre full of 40-50 of us, a real mix of ages and backgrounds. There was a thorough presentation about what's involved in the course (am I mental, but I can't help being excited at thought of doing some academic work again?!), a bit about fees and funding and some bits of pre-reading.

We then had to wait in a huge long line to have all our documents and ID photocopied (typical me, got sandwiched between two small groups of people who seemed to already know each other and didn't want to involve me in their conversations no matter how much I batted my eyelashes at them :o so that wasn't brilliant) and they wouldn't accept my little GCSE result slip so I'm going to have to shell out for replacement certificates. I'm convinced I must not have received them in the first place because it's not the sort of thing I'd lose - I still have my infant school reports for goodness' sake!

Anyway. I feel a lot happier about my next steps now, and it feels like it's actually happening which is brill :) Peeing rain here today and I'm off to do a 10k run tonight. Woo.
