Really exciting
How rude of the people who all knew each other not to be friendly, if I was there you'd have got to know me! I'm very chatty
What kind of pre-reading do you have to do? I'm wading through the reading for my interview.
Not feeling very excited about the interview TBH, more apprehensive and flat, but hopefully that's just my traditional pre-birthday blues and I'll be fine soon!0 -
Very, Lara!
Does that mean your birthday's coming up Kitty? Yeah all the others seemed lovely, I was just unlucky to be stuck with the few who weren't. I'm not too worried as they're from up Newcastle way so won't have much to do with them I guess (hadn't realised this programme was so far-reaching!)
The prep work they've advised (although they said don't overdo it!) is- subject knowledge, look at the National Standards, read up on modern and traditional teaching styles and educational theory (he reeled off a load of names but I wasn't quick enough - one of them was Black), read the TES and any subject-specific journals, look into the different teaching unions (don't suppose you've done that yet?) .... and that's all I've written down. I've also got the Teaching for Dummies book and How to get the Boogers to Behave out of the library - although a quick flick through the latter has scared me to death, all "what do do if a pupil calls you a f***ing b*tch..."
Right, it's payday (alleluia!) so I'm off to do the money shuffle
Oh and I text my friends from school last night and they all seem to have their GCSE certificates so I'm going to have a good look at the weekend before I pay anything out! Need to go through all Mam's old paperwork in case they're in there somewhere, but I did that after she died so I would have found them then surely. Sigh.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Thanks for the CAPITALS and cheerleaders laydeez
I think I did well.......have to wait up to 3 weeks now, but if I don't get in, I've certainly tried my hardest. I was quite subdued until I got there, as I was nervous and a bit stressed remembering how great Uni1's interview had been and then the feeling of rejection; but with this interview, it was very different, apart from a prepared maths question, everything else was done off the cuff and so I'm hopeful, but not getting my hopes up too much.
I had to plan a lesson in 15 minutes and talk about it, then write a 3-part critique of what was good and not so good about it (gulp!), talk about the maths, and do another activity with a different person to the maths. The time flew by!
So glad its over though. I just hope I can get through the next few weeks better than the last time I was in this situation!0
