That's crazy! What else are the Etsy crowd supposed to call them?! By a point of principal I shall refrain from buying anything from the 'proper' Taggies company and either buy handmade or make my own! :p

Good to know Wendz! They're really easy and quick Birdie, not sure if you have a machine though? You have to go over and over the ribbons to make sure they're secure.

I've got a machine (MIL gave me her old one) but I've not used it at all! Don't even know how to set it up! :o Might have a go making one for my brother's LO. :)

    During week...
    - Look at severance procedure - deadline 5th March
    - Make a POA re. teaching applications
    - Join running club - have to do this in person on Monday/Thursday
    - Sort through paperwork mountain - this is half done
    - Look at ISAs, current rate, how much allowance left before April, etc.
    - Sew buttons and mending
    - Make 2 more taggies
    - Blog post 2
    - Blog post 3
    - Finish knitting both scarves so Gran can help me cast off
    - Sort some stuff to ebay!!

Didn't get as much done yesterday as I'd have liked but at least made some progress.

Work is getting me down something rotten, I've just got so much to do and sometimes I wonder if it's me that's lazy, since I chat on here etc at certain points during the day - but then I have mornings like this morning where I get to work for 8am and really really go gung ho to clear my inbox down and get stuff done, and stuff just comes in faster than I can respond, I'm just sick to death of it.

A lot of the stuff I have to do is down to other people's laziness/incompetence and yet again my manager is AWOL - Colleague 2 just hasn't come in today (checked her FB and her baby is ill, but why hasn't she rung in?!) I feel like I'm the only one who does anything around here and yet it's always me who's being pestered for more :(:(

What a big old moan eh, sorry! I just feel really taken for granted and am worried that my light at the end of the tunnel is fading fast (and the more exhausting work is, the less inclined I am to do anything about it...)

Anyway, money-wise, I just posted this over on Dinah's thread, but to keep me on track:

    March Madness -
£60 from my £2 coin pot
£40 given by Grandma from some £300 win or other (she can be quite the flutterer!)
£4 reimbursement by Grandma for groceries - thought I may as well put that to the total too...
£30 catching up on Day Zero savings (I'm saving £10 for every goal I complete)
    TOTAL: £134

ALSO since I'm updating my sig, I weighed in this morning and found that despite some mega snack action recently, I'm still 3lb below my starting weight so that's one good thing at least. I should start MFP back up really.... I must've lost and gained this same stone about ten times in the last few years :o:o

I feel for you Tete, it's that old saying 'If you want something doing, ask a busy person to do it'. The more you prove yourself capable of doing, the more will be expected of you. :o

Not really sure what you can do about it other than have a word with a manager (not the one constantly going AWOL!) about how you're feeling put-upon and unsupported. :)

SUCH a true saying about the busy people thing - I know I'm guilty of it myself. The problem is, the farther up the management ladder you go, the less they care. I'm taking the passive-aggressive approach and only doing what I can do, because I'm Only Human - doesn't stop me getting stressed about it though :(

Been looking at the severance thing, it's got a longer deadline than I thought - I'd seen the 5pm bit and thought it was 5th March :o I doubt I'll get it because I'm only a minion, so they wouldn't save much by employing someone at the bottom of my grade as opposed to me at the top of the grade, but hey I'm *hopefully* leaving anyway so I've nothing to lose by applying!

Depends how they look at it, in some places its as much about the number of heads as the value of the heads IYKWIM. :) At our place I know that I've made the mistake of saying,'Ah, I've got nothing to worry about, they won't save much by getting rid of me' when hearing news of redundancies then going into a blind panic when they say it's about the numbers and all pay grades are treated the same! :o

In my old office I made a poster for the wall saying 'You can only do what you can do' and got told off by the manager for being 'defeatist'. I thought it was a nice reminder not to stress about things you can't control! I replaced it with the much more cheery reminder that 'Stressed is desserts spelled backwards!'. :)

Defeatist? Just shows how you can see two sides to everything doesn't it? When the alternative is flogging yourself senseless every day just to try and keep on top of things, what's worse? If I was a doctor or something fair enough, I'd be more inclined to allow myself to be stressed over it but for what I do it's not worth it. Argh, soo I've lost all motivation now I've started moaning! Back to the 15 minute rule....!!

Yeah, when he said that about me being defeatist I felt like saying that I worked in an unimportant admin role and refused to get stressed about it. Grand scheme of things, I was hardly changing lives! He was the idiot who put up a load of those lame motivational posters around saying things like 'Teamwork', 'Determination', 'Achievement' etc and they weren't even ironic! I was so tempted to replace one with Barney's 'Awesomeness' poster from How I Met Your Mother and wait to see if anyone noticed! ;)

Urk, shudder! At least it wasn't "You don't have to be bonkers to work here but it helps!"
