I do quite well with yellow stickers because everyone is grabbing the meat, and I don't eat meat. I get loads of fruit and veg reduced to pennies. Some dairy. Loaves of wholemeal or grain bread for between 5p and 20p a loaf. I only go shopping at 8pm. when they are marking down for the last time. I couldn't afford to eat if I had to pay full price.

  • Lyndsey - this is not fair,:rotfl: I am determined not to buy anything more until we have eaten up all the stuff we already have but I can't resist a challenge.
Fortunately I didn't see this until we got back from Sainsbugs and all I had fallen for was some half price haddock loins.:o

Well done Lynsey and turkishdreamer. :T

I am being very selective due to space issues. I have just got 2x pineapples down from £2 to just 14p. :j
A packet of pancakes with lemon and saltanas down from 89p to 22p.
A tub of taramasalata down from £1.09 to just 15p. :D
4x french sticks down from £1.09p to just 22p.

The pineapples are being chopped up now to freeze in portions what we don't eat tonight. The french sticks are being turned in to garlic breads and frozen and the pancakes will be for breakfast.
The taramasalta we have never tried before so we will try on crackers for supper.

    Full price £10.34, YS price £ 1.53.
I am loving the late openings on a Sunday, it has made for a much better YS shop. :)
    £36/£240
    £5522

Count me in even though my fridge is exploding with yellow stickers. Shame the competition didn't start from tuesday evening when I had a brilliant shop in asda with lots of 10p items. In our local this afternoon lovely sa lad told us all to choose the items out of the basket we wanted and make a queue for him to reduce them. Well done to lynsey for a good idea and a laugh!

Count me in! Some great bargains found so far. I have got lots of ys in my fridge and freezer, but we are now using it, so there's always a bit of room for something to squeeze in!

    Yesterday I got -

3 x roasted chickens from Tesco - reduced from £4 each to £1.60 each, all meat stripped off and stock made from the carcasses

Big salad bowl - £2 reduced to 20p Tesco

    Swede - £1 reduced to 10p

    Ice buns - 70p reduced to 7p

Wholemeal buns reduced from 69p to 7p

300g line caught cod loin from Sainsburys - £5.90 reduced to £1.45, now in the freezer, either to make fish pie with, or I really fancy cod goujons.

3 iced ring doughnuts for 46p

1 smallish pack of king prawns - 39p
  • I am just defrosting a raw fish medley (salmon, cod & smoked haddock) I got half price in the Co-op a week or two back - £1.65 - it will make a lovely fish pie for tea using mash left over from dinner yesterday (and mixed with grated cheese half price from Jack Fultons)

You got some good bargains there cazj80, I am envious! My local supermarkets never make reductions like that!
