Got DD in docs at 4.00. There is a drop in becks which is much better and quicker. I would have took her drop in if they said no but I thought if she is having fits again her own GP would need to refer her. When she was Ill with tonsillitis a few months back our own dr's had no appointments, even when you phone first thing in morning! I took her to drop in then and they saw her straight away even though it was packed as they could see how Ill she was. I think she had a mild fit then too but thought it was just the tonsillitis.

Been catching up with some postals while she's asleep. I'm way behind with comps!

Hope you get some proper treatment for your DD Wingo. My mother suffered from epilepsy and has been on tablets since she was 20 so it has always been a big worry for us as it can be inherited. I agree with Sylvia though if you get refused an appointment ask for a home visit - works everytime. Keep us posted. x

Well I've never been so insulted by a dr in my life! I had an appointment with a dr I have never met before and explained DD's symptoms and how they were re-occurring, the school & gym coach have noticed a change in her motor skills ...blah blah blah....the dr says...what do you want me to do about it? I explained her history and that she could need referring back to hospital and hospital said to do that if any more probs. my DD has trouble communicating/socialising and can't do eye contact (dr would know that if he read notes) and he said to DD...is there something you want to tell me, is somebody doing something to you? I turned to him furiously and asked what he meant. He said is someone bullying her! I would know if my DD was as she tells me everything! In the end I managed to get her referred and she is having blood tests. Finally! Last time I see that doctor!

Some Drs are useless wingo, but I'm glad that you got what you wanted. We had one at our surgery and from what I could tell, nobody would see him, we would all rather wait a few days for one of the others. He's gone now thank God.

  • Glad you got an appointment Wingo, hope all is OK. We have a system at our docs where you can book online. If you go on line at 8.25 am the apps are released at 8.30 on the phone, but about 8.27 online. By 8.30 there are usually none left.
BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS
  • Just read your post about how you got on at Doctors. I would make sure that you dont go to him again. Anyway, glad you got the referral you wanted. My DGS has similar problems with the communication school, its very difficult to deal with if you don't understand. He also has problems if he gets hot his eyes start to roll and we have to cool him down quickly. Hope all goes well at the hospital app (when you get it).

We have to phone just after 8am to get an appointment. If we phone the day before we usually have to phone back in the morning which doesn't make sense to me.

  • I can't remember last time I went the Doctors but know if hubby wants an appointment he has to ring at half eight. And even then he isnt guaranteed one. Rubbish system.
