Hi Wannabe....you're right, I could use either of those excuses....I could say it's my hubby's chrismas do (which his company pay for!!) that night.....good plan!!

We used to do a lunchtime do....which was much better as we'd go straight from work (no special outfit needed) and the meal would be around £15-20.....which is much better. But I'm not going, I'm determined!!

Quick update as I haven't posted in a good while. This month's budget is going well:j and I think it's really helped having DH on board with it. We're on target to break even at the end of the month - which, when we normally go overdrawn, is progress in itself.

Dh has also been given a small payrise, which will hopefully be increased again in April - this will be a real help!! I've had a pay freeze for 3 years, with no chance of this changing at the moment, so any extra money is a bonus!!!

We've had DD's birthday and party and are now onto getting Christmas sorted. I'm quite pleased that I'm not going overboard this year and am seriously thinking about what I'm buying (particularly for the children) rather than just making impulse purchases to ensure that they have 'loads' of presents.

Got a busy Sunday ahead with DS' football matches, cleaning, vacuuming, ironing......the list goes on......also need to update my online banking and check my budget is as on track as I think it is
