  • I'm exactly the same. I've been frantic the past fortnight and no time for anything. Worrying about Christmas and the fact that I'm normally sorted by now but I actually haven't even started yet.

With work being hectic and family life the same, I find it difficult to keep track. I'm almost sorted for Christmas :j:jbut haven't wrapped anything or written any cards. It's all on a 0% card which will be paid off at the end of December - that will then allow me to tackle the debt in the New Year.

Had a low spend day today - 60p on a stamp:eek:, £1.31 on sweets (kids' Friday treat) and £1.95 on deoderant.

Have finally had my cheque from Scottish Power for £115 - this is being given to DH as it's my birthday at the end of the year....and it's a significant one.....so DH wants wants to get me something nice. We have really debated the idea of me having an iPad (which I really want) but have decided it's not a good idea given our current financial situation:( and that I will put any money I get for my birthday towards saving for one (at the moment - this might change depending on how I feel....as I really need some new clothes too!!) I know that the money would be better spent paying off the debt....but you're only 40 once:eek::eek:

We have a busy weekend ahead....DD has dancing tomorrow, then a party (yes, another one) and then I'm going to visit my elderly Aunt, before heading off to my Sister-in Law's for the evening. Inbetween all of this DS2 has football training and I need to do some housework, get the children to do their homework.....oh the list goes on.

Am glad it's the weekend anyway.....at least I don't have to get up for work tomorrow:j:j

Once again it's been a while since I've managed to post. DD has been poorly with both the sickness bug and a nasty virus so have been pretty busy!!

Some positives have happened though - DH gets a bonus in December, along with his payrise - which means that he is buying me an iPad.....I know it should go straight off the debts, but it is unexpected money, and we'd always planned that we would tackle the debts head-on in the New Year. I know this probably (well....isn't) the best plan....but it's what DH wanted to do.

Have managed to get some spreadsheets up and running and my budget for December and beyond is sorted. It'll obviously need adjusting and fine tuning, but the basics are there. So come 1st January 2013 - the battle against the debt commences!!:rotfl:

Busy weekend ahead (as usual) - we're having a chinese takeaway with family as it was my Dad's 70th in the week - he didn't want a special meal or anything and just wanted us to get together. I've budgeted for it and so it'll won't come out of my regular spending money. Am off Christmas shopping again on Monday - haven't got much left to get, and MUST get some wrapping paper!!

    Plan for the weekend:

    Christmas cards to be written
    Ironing:(
Plan what I need from shopping trip
DD has a party to go to - present & card already purchased
    DD has dancing
Filing - I have tonnes of this - why do I leave it so long? Always swear I'll do it weekly.....

Hope everyone has a great weekend
