Where can I get info about a non limited company.

You could try passing this info onto trading standards, they might tell you if they can help to get the info to progess your case. If they can't, you might just have to do it yourself by speaking to litton house(do your research first, you seem to have done well thus far).
Another organisation maybe you could consult about virtual offices is the dti or the office of fair trading?0 -
I've been trying to think laterally like hollydays. I've checked the VAT number and that's real. Perhaps you can check on that. After all, if they are charging for and not delivering a service perhaps their VAT would be out of kilter. For example, I pay flat rate VAT as a consultant, of 12.5%. But if I charged this and then didn't deliver anything, then wouldn't the VAT be angry because I wouldn't be incurring the costs? Just an idea...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Interesting idea. Is the VAT for the same address or how did you check it?
Still looking for a way of checking on those 3 number used to call us several times.
"Reverse call check" or something similar I have been told that it is called...0 -
You put the VAT number in one of the previous posts. There's an EU VAT number checker where you put the number in and it tells you whether its valid (I had a hunch that if everything else was fake, that would be too). It came back as real, but the checker doesn't say who it belongs to. You can do the same check by telephone, but I don't think they will tell you who the VAT number holder is either.
This is such an obscure company I think we're all trying to think around the edges now! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? If I go to police, is there anything they can do?0

Don't know. I think I'd start with VAT. The fact that they won't tell you who the company is doesn't necessarily mean that they won't start the ball rolling themselves and investigate if they think something's fishy...
Sorry I can't help further. Your case annoys me for two reasons - firstly I can't work out who this company is because I've never heard of them and they should at some point have approached me and tried to sell me their service because of the nature of their former job. Which makes me wonder how they found you. Second I'm a researcher and I should know how to find out more about them and I keep hitting a brick wall. thank you vivatifosi.
same frustration here. there must be a way of finding out who they are....I have posted the same message on 10 forums from West Midlands - Birmingham Area hoping that someone know them...0 -
Admin, you haven't answered the question a bout how they first got your contact details,or how you found out about them?
You could put a question about the phone numbers on the telephones board, guess they are supplied by some virtual office company somewhere,or you could telephone your service provider and ask them.0 -
Hi Hollydays, (sorry, I didn't see the question 1st time)
They've rung the office a few time and strange enough it was right on the period of the year when we were preparing the advertising campaign.
Then a colleague of mine rung the number they've left with the office and arranged an appointment with one of their agents and that's the point where Mr. A Jacobs knocked on our door.0 -
Sorry AdminBC to send you running hither and thither, but the more I think about this the more I think that if they have targeted other companies that are in your profession or a similar one. I know that you posted on some local forums (and got some pretty cr&ppy responses so I can see why you wouldn't be in a hurry to do that again), but have you tried a forum for your line of business and just asked
"CIS Leads, anyone used them? Are they worth subscribing to?" that way you won't be opening yourself up to the vitriol of others and hopefully someone will tell you they've found themselves in the same situation.
Sorry, but that brick wall and my head are otherwise still making regular contact on this! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
