i'm in.
I have £200 for food and £50 for petrol. filled up car cost £47 so that will easily last the month. as only use car once a week at mo. but it half term for 2 weeks so i might use it a bit more.
as for food. although i spent about £500 last month and freezers are full. i gonna kinda forget the food there . i will say buy for for 5 meals out of the 7 then 2 meals from whats in cupbaords. so i don't run stocks down completely again.
i haven't added it up totally yet , but i think i have spent about £110 so far. but i did spent £10 on lean steak mince as i only really like the frozen one from tesco and don't go there much so when i do i stock up. my month will end on 22 april.0 -
I'm brand new to this site & want to jump in with both feet so am hoping to keep under £200 , that's for 2 adults & 3 kids (4 & 20mths). Don't know if that's realistic or not! Don't have much in as I've been trying to use up what we have. I'm off to Aldi in a while but will stay away form the biscuits/cakes!
Good luck everyone!

I have already spent £69.82 but this includes two parties and also vegetable seeds, some of which I have sown and are already sprouting. I have to admit that one of the parties everyone brought both food and drink so that helped hugely. In fact we still have leftovers to make use of and then anything left can go to dog, cat or hens.
When I bought my vegetable seeds I got 5 free packets of flower seeds so that was a bonus. I think they are Thomson and Morgan.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Well, we failed completely in March. Target was £260 but we actually spent £323 + meals out aswell (althogh still spending tons less than we used to so its having a benefit)
Am determined to try harder this month, especially as it will be my 3rd, but am setting the target a higher this month because:
A. we keep failing
B. my other half is going camping at easter and seems to be taking a HUGE amount of supplies
C. we have people coming to stay
D. Its half term and kids eat at least twice as much when at home all day
E. we are having 2 weeks of no Cooker as Boiler & Kitchen are going to be replaced. Frantically Batch Cooking & freezing things to microwave but not sure there will be enough
April Target £300
To feed (& water...well wine actually) 2 adults, 17yr son, 12yr daughter & 15yr daughter at weekends + 1 cat and all cleaning products / Toiletries.
Tesco spend £66.06Been falling further in despite having an IQ, getting more urgent as I get older & the debt get bigger

hi all Im returning to this challenge after having my food off the brake for a few months
the cupbaords are bulging, and we are skint. So, Ive decided that we will try not to do a big shop this week. We were spending 25pw, but its crapt up to about 35pw, and really we need to reduce to more like 80pcm
So, yesterday I spent a fiver in lidls and we spent a fiver today in morrisons, and that should do us now.
If only we could both stop buying lunches- we just simply have to and thats the end of it! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi everybody,
I'd love to join your challenge! In Jan I worked out that I have £60 per week to spend on 2 adults 1 baby (10 months) and 2 dogs. I've been able to stick to this but would like to cut it down a bit more.
I know it doesn't sound much but for April am going to aim for £55 - £20 less a month.
I'll be starting it next sat and will let you know how it goes!
Good luck to everyone xlightbulb moment Jan 07 - DFW 417!debtwas£32k

well it's my first month of GC this month - usually spend about £70 pw including nappies for 2 tots but excluding diesel, hoping to get this down to £50 pw - £200 this month just to see how I go - already have a slow cooker and new freezer on its way (currys gift vouchers) so hoping to have a real good shot at it this month - should also help as youngest DS coming off formula and onto cows milk this week!:jHappiness is not getting what you want - it's wanting what you have

Hi
Did a shop in Asda, and Tesco on Saturday and then a small top up today at Sainsburys (as Asda and Tesco didnt have a couple of things on my list) so total spent so far is £40.56.
This means only £119.44 left for 4 weeks - I can do this, I can do this.
Was really good and stuck to my list and no odd things crept in so that was a start. menu planned for the week and day 1 went fine today.0 -
Hi All
I joined in end of last year but it was half hearted (but really did open up my eyes and change my shopping habits. So...
I'm having my 2nd baby in August and want to take off as much time after as I can, but as the higher wage earner (over twice what DH earns) it's a bit scary so we're doing everyhitn we can to get savings in place, including a shopping account buffer to eat into and not pay into (hope that made sense)
I normally put aside £200 pm for DH, DS1 (4) myself and 2 cats, but at the mo I’m trying desperately hard to get to £100 pm so I can save half to use when I need to reduce my outgoings as much as poss. So, here’s yesterday’s weekly shop. To be fair I already have quite a bit in… this isn’t a true reflection of a weekly shop (oh how nice if it were!)
