August grocery challenge - £2500 -
hi
I have been a lurker for a while but thought i might join in.
I have been watching what i spend on grocerys for about two months and have seen it come down.
I am going to budget £250 for 2 adults and 3 children ( aged 14, 13 and 7) for food and toiletries, including the odd takeaway. Hopefully I can do it, and may even come in under budget as 14 year old is away for 10 days on school trip and she's really found her appetite. 13 year old has special needs and is prone to choking and has a limited diet, however i feel this is doable and still a challenge.
I need to find out how to put info into a footnote.

I'm in please. I had 'trial month' last month - just looking what I spent, being more carefull and plannning a bit better - I cut my grocery bill by a third. So this month I am aiming for 400 euro for two adults and three children. we will be away a while to staying at friends which will help.Saving to pay the tax man0

Followed last month's thread with intererest (and awe) and would like to join the April challenge. My budget this month is £90 for food and cleaning stuff (petrol is separate). I used to easily spend £150 a week (including takeaways and lunches at work) but I am detoxing at the moment and am following a sugar-free, caffeine-free, wheat-free vegan diet so in theory my budget should be sufficient as I have no meat or fish or junk food to buy.
What I need to train myself to do is to buy less but more often - I have a bad habit of stuffing my fridge with stuff which goes off before I have time to eat it and it's such a waste.
Good luck to everyone with this month's challenge.0 -
I'm going to try again. Plan to make £40 a week for April. Need to cut it down some more as I never quite come under budget so will try online shop again and more of the value/basic ranges (after reading the thread - thanks black-saturn).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Hi everyone
I've only just joined! (though I have checked out this particular thread in the past for some tips).
I'd like to join in the April challenge - am seriously worried about the amount of money I waste in the supermarket each month.
Will try for £250 for our 2 adult, 2 toddler, 1 dog household.
Looking forward to the challenge!:j0 -
I am going to try for £260 this month for all food toiletries etc. as have got DH, DSs 1-3 and me to feed. All over 16 yrs old. It may prove to be a bit ambitious as DS1 has moved in and DD moved out and he eats about 3 times the amount she did. Payday was 24th so already into 2nd week.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I'm allowing £280 this month, 2 adults, 2 kids (6 and 8) with appetites of pigs and 2 dogs (walking dustbins) mainly because of 2 weeks of school holidays and a few days out planned. This is for all grocery shopping, takeaways, cleaning stuff, toiletries etc. One of which will be allowing a take away treat rest we will take food and drinks with us where possible. I have already done a little shopping for next month, mainly because kids are off school and I'm in hospital 2 days within the hols so trying to be a little more prepared. This I will total up (when I find the receipts
) and start April total. Going to take what's left out in cash so easier to work out and makes it harder to overspend, can't spend what I don't have. Unfortunately telling DS2 that the food bought is to last hopefully 2 weeks and not just one night is another matter!!!! He's currently in a strop after repetedly being told NO!
Good luck everyone! One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
