Hi everyone
i'm in again this month with a budget of £110, i came in under budget again last month. did my first shop yesterday and spent £35.11 which is loads more than i've spent for the last two months but my freezer and Cupboards looked like they belonged to Old Mother Hubbard so had to stock up a bit
hopefully i shouLd be able to stay in budget again this month but don't think i'll be under it by as much as the last two months
good luck to everyone again

Hi,
I am a Newbie. This is my first ever challenge. Have thought of a budget of £80 for two - me & DH. Please count me in.
And Good Luck to everybody....0 -
Well I did my first shopping trip of the month and already spent £40, which is nearly half of my monthly budget! However it included stuff which will last me the whole month (eg huge pack of dishwasher powder, a refill for my Brita filter, wheat-free pasta, lots of nuts and dried fruit, big bag of frozen peas, etc) so in fact this leaves me just over £10 a week for fresh fruit and veg and (wheat-free) bread so it should be plenty... My only luxury was to buy a bottle of maple syrup, but this will last ages also.
Still can't decide whether veganism is better for me from a financial point of view or not  It's still early days (I went vegan 2 months ago) and am still buying fruit and veg from the supermarket, whereas I should really make an effort and try and find where my nearest market is.0 -
I am going to attempt to do the challenge again this month after failing miserably last month but I am going to set myself a limit of £65 (last month I tried with £50). This is probably quite high for just one person but I am spending more on fruit these days in one week than I used to in one month and I feel better for it so I'm going to continue with it.
This is just for food and not for household stuff.
Also this doesn't include my twice monthly takeaway with OH.0 -

Hi everyone,
Just found this thread today, never posted any feedback before.
I have always thought of myself as being very good at watching what I spend, and I cook most of the time. I have a monthly budget that I usually stick to, but I am very ashamed to say that I have always allocated £400 a month for food and cleaning products, as well as £150 month for food eaten out at take-aways or restaurants.
The thing is I blew our food shopping in March and spent in total for both categories - £820
Scope for drastic change here!!!
Will be sitting down with all my receipts and cookery books today, to sort this out. My shopping is for 2 adults, 2 children and 2 cats. I will keep you posted and let you know how I do in in April.
I am very disgusted with myself.Currently debt free (for 4 years) - ISA Savings now £4,050.56Save 12k in 2012 Challenge - £3215.17 / 3000k (Member 159)

I did my first shop of the month and spent £3.86 in Aldi. Only got a couple of bits. I plan to go shopping every 4-5 days and just get bits that I run out and have a look at the reduced section for fruit/veg.0
