benefit fraud?

i need help.
I have received a letter this morning, saying i have to go to an interview because i am committing benefit fraud.
Now the reason is; My ex partner lives with me , but in a separate bedroom. We are NOT together.
He moved in in jan this year, after my postnatal depression got to much, and i couldn't cope.
He doesn't pay any bills, apart from abit of food. He works full time.
we hardly see him, apart from him to take us food shopping, but he helps with the kids some days.
There is no chance of us getting back together.
what should i do? this is not helping my anxiety at all.
I have two children, and cant go to prison. im mortified.

Is it just an 'interview' - or an 'interview under caution' as they are 2 different things.
Does his mail etc come to your house? If so I think you'll have a hard time convincing DWP that you are not a couple.0 -
interview under caution... even wording sounds awful.
i have no idea what im going to do. i struggle with money as it is0 -
Does he not pay you any rent? He just lives there for free whilst the council pay you're housing allowance/benefit. Sorry but I can see why they want to interview you.0

He lives there, he works full time, he does a bit of helping with the kids (his kids???), and provides transport for an occasional shiop for the food he eats - and he doesn't pay anything except a bit towards food? Sweet arrangement for him.0 -
he pays for sky, phone and broadband. Even if he was to pay rent, he wouldnt be able to afford it tbh.0

How does he support you emotionally if he is hardly ever there?0 -

That's his problem! The benefits people aren't going to interested in paying for his rent and council tax etc - he's in a job. And if you have financial problems you don't need sky.0 -
Did you declare a change in circumstances to the DWP when he moved in? His salary is included in household income as far as I know (long time since I worked for DWP).0

The problem is kim, even if you are not living as husband and wife. You are still getting benefits from the state to pay your rent. As your husband is living there, he's living off the people who pay your rent.
Even if, as you say, he's living there as a lodger, he should be paying his own way, rent etc. Instead at the moment i'm guessing that the taxpayer are paying it?
He can't live there rent free if he's working full time.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
no because were not a couple! its like having a lodger? they could willing come and look round the house and see, but obv not.0
