Good on you for looking after her! Just a thought - if you have a church or school near by, might it be worth a word to them? If she belongs to an older person they might not be able to get out so might not have seen the posters, but it'd be a good way to spread the word.

The pregnancy thing is a worry, the vet didn't really check to be honest, she just gave her a quick look for injury to explain the legs problem and scanned for a chip. I thought the scar would be on the belly but a friend told me it's on the side so i will be checking when i get home tonight. Not sure on her hearing, she's very responsive to sounds though so i think her hearing is fine.

Yes any mark would be on the side but apparently most often it cannot be seen. Lulu is an ex stray and my vet used the mark on her side to say she was *probably* spayed and *probably* not more than a year old. They felt for kittens then told me to see if she came into season! She never did so it is sad someone who cared about her enough to get her spayed has lost her. :( One of the first things I did is get her microchipped.

Good point from JojotheTightfisted that the crying might be her coming into season, if so get her spayed ASAP after she comes off it. She can safely be done even if very early pregnancy, IMO that would be best because most rescues have long waiting lists at present. Cats Protection might be able to help with a neutering voucher.

yes, i don't want her to have kittens at all - too many cats in rescues and as we can see - wandering around lost.

It's scary: I read of one branch the other day that has a waiting list of 400!

Aww what a love, a neighbour asked me if we had seen her cat as she had been missing for about 3 days, but she is black all over and as we are in the NW I think Lancs to Lond is a bit far even for cats lol.

Unfortunately they can and do wander off or generally "move in" with someone else-one of the pains of being a cat lover I'm afraid.

I agree with the leaflet locally-I would probably knock on doors with a photo and ask if anyone knows whoose she is, but we live oop north in a semi rural area on the edge of a small town. Not sure I'd like to knock doors in a city lol.

Good on you for taking her in, sometimes the cat chooses you not the other way around :)

She actually looks very much like our youngest who is a darling-looked when I saw the photo to make sure she is still here lol.

We also have an older grumpy Tom cat who can be loving when he feels like it. He has serious atitude problems but is fun to watch.
When the female went into season the first time (a week before she was booked in for the Op-typical) as he is also "done" her behaviour confused him and he spent 2 evenings chasing off many would be suitors rofl-he is a big lad but spend most of the next day cuddling up on peoples knees he was really put out. There were cats I had never seen before who must have come miles. I was suprised how many "whole" males were about so to speak.

The cry a female makes at that time is unlike any other, it sounds weird like another creature not a cat. It also sounds like a human being stabbed or something. Its a long desparate moan as opposed to that over and over meowing they do to come in.

    Good luck

Oh she's beautiful, and she co-ordinates so well with your sofa and cushion.

She looks so comfortable on your sofa it would be a shame if she had to leave.....

Well, I think SHE has made up HER mind as to where she lives ;)
  • I'm not a cat lover (allergic and a bad bite several years ago) but she is an absolute cutie!!!

She's got her behind well and firmly implanted on the couch!!

I hope you find her owners OP though I strongly suspect that puss in boots has found her new Mummy!!

btw...I vote for calling her Socks as she has little white 'sock feet';)
