Found cat - what on earth to do...

I can't add any more advice, but I just want to say what a gentle, heart-warming thread this is. That beautiful little cat clearly has no plans to move on from what sounds like a home with loving people.
Have a good holiday, don't worry about her, I'm sure she'll welcome you home with open arms !0 -
Lovely! Looks like puss has rehomed herself! Cats can wander (so I'm told) upto a 50 mile radius, shocking really, but of course as others have suggested puss could have been abandoned. We recently had 2 lovely huge indoor cats abandoned in a park with a note giving us their names and their ages and that they've been indoor cats and they're brother and sister. Very sad, anyway they've come to our centre and they're off to a forever home next week. It's amazing (admittedly it made me cry) to think that these two cats had lived in a house as indoor cats for 4 years and suddenly they were abandoned. Initially they were stand offish and scared (naturally!) but after a few days they're there giving love and wanting to fuss you, they've forgiven humans already, what a beautiful thing. Yet some cats that come to us are so traumatised that they can't deal with humans, they'll tolerate them to bring them food and water but that's it.
Glad this has ended well0 -
ebird, it astonishes me and sickens me that someone could do that. If I'd come across those two poor animals in a park the cat population of my house would've doubled instantly!
I've also rescued three dogs in the past couple of years who were roaming the streets. Fortunately they were all either microchipped or wearing a tag and hence easily returned to their rightful homes.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Whilst it absolutely is shocking (and people can be prosecuted for it) it's not surprising. Most rescues are absolutely overrun at present with huge waiting lists, so the people who need to rehome their pets through change of circumstances are not getting a look in.IMO we need a law like Belgium for widespread neutering.

I would simply castrate...and whatever the female equivalent of it is
But then hey - I am a simple person0 -
The scar on her tummy may be from spaying. My kitten had an umbilical hernia and they fixed that and spayed her at the same time. She's a wee black and white cat with wobbly legs too  We're up at the border though so not in London. 2 of the females from the same litter had the same issue with hernia and wobbly legs.
They were a special bunch - they were born to a 'done boy' that someone I know got from a cat rescue place. Kittens were a rather large surprise :laugh:0 -

What a heartwarming and kind offer from this lady.:)I hope it goes well at the vet's.
I also leave the radio on for my wee minx for when I'm out.Often I'll throw a toy for her or give her some meat just before I go out,so that she's occupied with something when I shut the door. That's great news on the puss front! As for the pooping, maybe she needs worming as I know some of the Ferals at ASSISI do this when they need wormed. Is the any blood in the poo?..
well thanks to some special food, and paste, and antibiotics, and wormer (phew) the diarrhea has finally ceased! :j:j
The lady that paid is so kind, i could cry! She is coming to check on her (we're calling her Pickle) while we are on holiday from Thursday, I've tried to pay her (she is a professional and well established local pet sitter) she simply wont have my money as she likes to 'give something back' to the community. She's even going to check on my 3 pet snakes - I said i would defo pay for that and she still says no... I must get her some flowers or something, i've never met anyone so kind and helpful.
We're back at the vets for some blood test and a pelvic xray to rule out injury/illness tomorrow to explain the drunken walk. It's a little bit like watching a drunken lady in heels run for a bus when she runs!!! I do have a feeling it's just a disability that she copes with fine, rather than injury or disease.
I was away down at my friends house by the coast this weekend. My boyfriend had her snuggled in bed and taught her lots of naughty habits - he's the push over of the two of us! I'm having to be a bit harder on her and not let her in while we sleep or she will really miss us when we're away. She cries at the door, it's so sweet! Once we get back it may be a rule that gets very much relaxed lol :rotfl:0 -
Isn't lovely to read of acts of kindness, yours for giving Pickle a home Mystra and your pet sitting lady for being so generous and helping you get sorted. :A
Pickle will soon train you to let her into the bedroom, and the bed :rotfl:
Isn't it strange about all the cats with wobbly legs? Mine doesn't seem to have any discomfort with it, she runs, jumps and plays as normal and the vet can never find anything wrong. She does like having a massage and when her leg is like that and a little gentle work on her hip does seem to help.
Oh, and if she is one of those pusses who poohs right at the edge of the litter tray, the covered litter boxes are worth every penny.0
