My Microsoft Money has stopped getting prices online

Would anyone be kind enough to try this and see if Money crashes for them, too? If you don't seem to have the 'Account Transactions' report, then you probably need to click on 'Change report settings' on the LHS and select 'Advanced Reports' rather than 'Essential Reports'.
To be clear, I don't lose my data or anything - the program just crashes and I have to start it up again. All the other reports seem to work just fine.
Working fine for me ....using Money 2005, on Win 8.1 (and on Win7 laptop)0 -

I've had similar problems with MS Money crashing

I managed to fix by removing reports from the homepage which then allowed me to navigate to the correct page. If it is only for a specific report then I'm not sure if that will fix your issue but you may be able to replicate it using a different report template instead.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

Thanks, jimjames. I hadn't given this much thought before, but yes, I can customise the 'Transactions by payee' report (which does work) to get everything I need and then export it to Excel. This might be what I actually did last year - I just can't remember!0 -
My Microsoft Money 2003 has stopped getting prices online when I do an update. It reports 'your call was successful' but there are no new prices. It hasn't worked for about a week or two. I can't find anything on the web about it. Has anyone else got this problem?
So I have been searching for a solution to the problem of how to update Money share prices.
So I thought I would inform you about a small program you can now buy for $9.99 from Gaier Software which runs so you get the share prices etc. updated for those of us reluctant to give up on the program. The internals of Money were rewritten for Money 2005. You’ll have to move to 2005 or newer in order to use this program though .
I have tried updating Money via an OFX import using Java and Python methods that have been around for some time. I tried using Auto Hotkey to automate parts of the task. All of which are very laborious and tiresome.
This solution takes all that away and is the closest to the original update method. Another benefit is that date at which each investment was last updated is shown – the OFX import methods just showed the last time they were updated by the Money servers before they got switched off.
I have bought it and used it all works fine - brilliant program updates all my portfolio prices – there are one or two that do not update but they never did with Money MSN.
This is the web site gaiersoftware.com/Money/DetailsAndHelp.
This link has more details and links to the free Microsoft money software.
Microsoft has made available called the Microsoft Money Sunset Plus is alive and well even though it’s not supported not tried so cannot comment

As you know Microsoft stopped supporting MS Money so you can no longer get updated prices for shares and unit trusts Since Microsoft pulled the plug on the quote servers in the summer of 2013.

Interesting that you joined 4 years ago and this is your first post, do you have any connection with the application writer?0 -

This software has been mentioned in this thread but it's appropriate for it to be covered here as well.
There is a 'try before you buy' free trial.

I've been using MSMoneyQuotes from Gaier Software for some time now. It works very well.
Noticed this morning that the MSN Money website isn't resolving any of my *fund* ISINs - just the one investment trust I've got. The 15th was the last date my funds updated.
The software's new -m option seems to do the trick (I've just tried it with one of my funds). But anyone else seen all their funds fail to resolve automatically?0 -
Thanks for the updates on this. Works okay for most of my Equity Portfolio. Symbols PHP and TFIF and WPCT (all LSE) are no recognised. Is there a full list of symbols somewhere? Do fund ISINs work as all of mine are Symbol not found.0

Prior to using 2.2 I hadn't seen all funds fail to resolve; the failures seemed to affect a small number of funds quite randomly.0 -
I hadn't bothered with version 2.2 because all my investments had been updating fine (I've only got a few, so perhaps I was just lucky). Anyway, I've now set up a SymbolMap file with them all in, and everything's working again.
One other thing I've noticed. I've ticked the box in Microsoft Money that says just download prices for current investments. The Gaier notes say the program should go along with this, but instead it still seems to be downloading prices for every investment I've ever had (well, trying to download them, but failing because of the symbol mapping problem).0
