My Microsoft Money has stopped getting prices online

Has anyone tried PSBA Money Manager yet as an alternative?
The specification looks good and it says it will track stocks and shares. It imports from Microsoft Money etc etc.
So may give it a try.

After spotting the free upgrade my MS Money to MS Money 2005 on here I took the plunge (with a view to purchasing the price update fix available).

The upgrade has gone fine and all ok except.......

I had logged in my old version of MS Money any items of value (or that may get half-inched; bikes jewelery etc). I can't for the life of me remember what option it came under (not sure if it was under Tools) but I cannot find anything similar on MS Money 2005 version.

Any one any ideas or use it in a similar way?

You're not using and you were able to offer assistance. I'm impressed.

Where It was fooling me was that if you click on 'Planner' you go to a MSN web page, whereas if you go straight to the section you mention you do get the app page.

I think you may be right. Although either its not the right place or, unfortunately, all of my data from my previous version doesn't appear.

Need to keep digging.

I'm using the final Money2005-UK-QFE2 version with Windows 7. Choosing the 'Account Transactions' report gives the message "There has been an error reading or writing the file '.' " and Money then crashes. Googling this issue throws up some other instances from the past, but I'm sure I used this particular report last year to export my business expenses to Excel. Now, it doesn't work.

Does it depend on versions? I had 2 different versions of Money 2000 but when I moved to 2005 there was only the one so I'm sure I lost some features from the more full featured one, fortunately it wasn't things I used so hasn't affected me. I think one was standard and the other was Professional and Business but I can check the packaging when I'm at home.

Perhaps. My previous version was a Professional.

I've got a back up file prior to the upgrade so I think I'll re-install the previous version and open the back file. Probably need to convert the MS Money list in to a spreadsheet or something.

Just checked and one of mine was Financial Suite, I'd guess from that it had more features than the basic version but not anything I actually used!

Got round to re-loading my old MS Money and there is a section called 'Worksheet' and within that is the 'Home Inventory' section.

I'll have to see what options are available to me, possibly see if I can copy/paste in to Excel. Or, I may just go back to my previous version. Ho hum.

Would anyone be kind enough to try this and see if Money crashes for them, too? If you don't seem to have the 'Account Transactions' report, then you probably need to click on 'Change report settings' on the LHS and select 'Advanced Reports' rather than 'Essential Reports'.

To be clear, I don't lose my data or anything - the program just crashes and I have to start it up again. All the other reports seem to work just fine.
