  • Have Orange stopped sending out letters, or do we think everyone affected has been contacted already?

I was expecting another wave of anger/disgruntled users =D

Perhaps the letters now say "at the end of your current mobile contract you can move to Orange line rental to keep your free broadband"
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Workmate of mine has still not heard a thing.
I was there when he got the free BB back in 2006.
He has asked re. the free BB every time he has upgraded, the last time was May 2012, and has always needed a £30+ contract due to work.
I've pointed him to this thread, but he says that he's going to keep his head below the parapet, and not do anything until they contact him.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Hi, I've been following this thread also, awaiting my letter from Orange. But nothing.

That is good :) maybe they are catching up on the complaints - giving the Executive Office a break - or, hopefully, re-wording the letter?

The sensible option would be to the latter, informing people when their mobile contract ends, on renewal, free BB will no longer be on offer ;)

Lets hope so, they cant be that naive that they will continue sending out disconnection letters can they:)
Maybe I am giving orange too much credit.
  • They're in quite an odd place at the moment.

I would assume they can't keep sending out the disconnection letters given the number people allowed to retain the broadband until the end of the contract.

They can't do nothing, because they need to begin some kind of dialogue with the people on free broadband who have not been contacted.

If they send out letters informing people they get to retain their broadband until the end of the current contract, they're providing a written contradiction to all the garbage they initially told/sent the first batches of customers.

I wonder if all the hassle/ill will they've generated was worth it, given the far more sensible option was just to let the offer run until the end of the contract in the first instance.

How it going Perry Masons? :)

Without trawling through the entire thread, the odd bits I have read sound like you've managed to get agreement to carry on free BB until end of contract plus a bit of compo as well for some?

Good stuff - shows the 'little' man/woman can make a difference.

I still think that Orange were actually being overly generous offering the free BB to people who reduced their monthly tariff, as well as offering speeds above their stated 2mb limit plus not imposing download limitations. But I guess we live in a world now where people are good at complaining and expect something for nothing.

Hope you think it was worth the bother.

It's gone good, people are getting what they agreed and are entitled to till contract completion.

Overly generous removing agreed to contracts ?

Yes we do, but then Orange agreed all these en mass and on a 1to1.

Holding anybody to account is always worth the bother ;)

How EE going inside these days ?

Well it's what Orange offered us all from day one & they renewed the free BB on new contracts, so they should have kept to their part of the bargain in the first instance.
If it had not been for the people on this forum, helping others we would have all been trodden on.
Companies do not survive if they alienate customers, we can all sped our money elsewhere & when my contract ends that's exactly what I am going to do.
