Annoyingly my BT line rental expires this month... Can I get Orange to agree to keep my free broadband til the end of my package, and then transfer my landline to someone else?

    Also...

After writing twice to Orange customer services and getting no reply I called Ofcom who gave me a case number. I then phoned the Orange Executive office and was then passed to a manager in the Broadband team. They tried to price match my current landline rental but in fact they couldnt make their offer as cheap as my current supplier (Primus) so they eventually conceded that I would be out of pocket if I changed to Orange landline rental. I argued that my 24 month PAYM contract taken out in March 2012 was mis-sold because I'd been told my free BB would continue. The manager agreed to extend my free broadband to the end of my PAYM contract, which runs until April 2014. When that time comes I will not be renewing with Orange. But it shows it is worth going through the complaints process and challenging the letters.

You've said you're with primus... does Orange BB work over primus? I thought it was BT only?

Also, which is the best section to chose on this page for emailing them my complaint?

I personally would follow what eva said in the post a page or two back, dont bother with the number in your post, just go straight to the exec number (thats what i did to with positive results) and give your reference number from ofcom and explain your situation.
You will then go on the mysterious list and get a phonecall back after a few days to say they are going to 'extend' your BB to the end of your mobile contract. :)

Following through EVA49 list, i now have ofcom case number,
i did not ring the number ofcom gave me for orange, phoned exec/office, spoke to a very nice lady, who told me i will be getting a call back within 48 hours.

If they dont phone you within 48 hours give the exec a call back and ask why. I did get a call back within the 48 hours and was sorted, even though I had to explain that I did not think it was an 'extension' of the free BB when they used this word, it was giving me what I had signed up to in the first place.
    You should be fine though.
  • Hi geordie-Ben & hadenufoforange,

The excellent template posted by Eva49 on previous page was constructed at the beginning of the struggle to get Free BB extended to the end of phone contracts.

It is still the way to go, depending on how far you intend to take matters. You will find, now, that you may only have to use the first two steps, to obtain the Free BB extension.

However if you intend to go all the way to the Small Claims Court, then the whole template will get you there.

    Good luck!

    And please sign RobbedRobbins petition.

All sorted, extended to Sept 2013

Ian Britton has confirmed that as long as the underlying line is BT then it doesnt matter who the company is.

Wish I'd known this last year when I felt forced to sign up to BT! Grr
  • Hi, I've got a Ofcom number for this and then called the exec office number and the (rather rude) man I got through to said I shouldn't have called the number and asked where I'd got it from, so I said I was following advice from here and he went off on how clever it all was and refused to help me. Should I give it another go and was he just trying to get rid of me? I really don't want to stay with Orange anymore but can't seem to find anyone that will deal with both my mobile and broadband at the same time.
    Any advice??
