I dont question your decision to move away from Orange so why do you question mine? I have considered my position and rather than bite my nose off to spite my face I will continue with the free broadband until the end of my mobile contract. I cant get released from my mobile contract so why would I want to pay out yet more money on another broadband provider when I dont have to yet. When my contract is up I will definitely be moving away from orange and will never use them again but I wont be stupid enough to throw more money away just to make a point. Surely its each persons own choice what offer they see fit for themselves and noone has the right to question that.

To all those who feel they have scored a victory by extending their 'free' bb until end of contract, I would ask you to stop and consider your positions. Orange do not deserve your custom for a day longer than it takes to migrate. They have put us all through a lot of stress, and countless hours of fatuous negotiation, over what was always our right through verbal contract. I will have no truck with any company who hide behind duplicitous and esoteric legalese in their written small print- and I have voted with my feet.

What have Orange done to deserve your continued custom ? You haven't won a pardon ....... just a stay of execution.

I guess Watchdog did not mean getting out of mobile contract and loosing money (sorry, Watchdog, for interpreting your words instead of you). What was meant is a penalty-free release to which we all are entitled now. I would agree with Watchdog on this one. The only problem is that I would envisage another huge battle with Orange over this.

I too was offered 'free bb for life', on the sole proviso that I maintained an Orange mobile. What contrived mendacity that proved to be !

Please, do what I did. Hold your head up, be principled, vote with your feet, and migrate to another broadband provider now. Show Orange that the customer is King.

I will definitely look for a new internet provider. All the best deals come tied to the provision of landline too. Currently my landline is with BT until April (paid upfront for a year). It means I cannot move to another provider unless it is BT (which are not the cheapest to be honest). My mobile contract with Orange expires in Dec 2013. AFTER THAT NOTHING EVER WILL MAKE ME STAY WITH THEM. And by that time I can move my landline from BT to TalkTalk or Plusnet.

Why I am saying this? Just to show that we all have different circumstances. But in the end, Orange will lose many of us if not all. Some are leaving now, as Watchdog, others will follow when their current contracts will end as myself.

It might be worth a chat with BT - they may surprise you with a special deal as they have made a complaint themselves via Ofcom challenging Orange procurement of landlines ;)

Can you clarify if the agreement you reached meant you could keep your landline with your current provider and not have to move it to Orange?

Hi RobbedRobbins,
I dont recall specifically asking again that I would keep my current landline provider, but my point to her was that I didnt see why I should have to take the Orange landline.
I havent got my email so I called again today - they had the wrong email noted so hopefully the email will come soon :-/

Update on 30-Nov-12: I got a call from orange to check everything was OK and I mentioned I didnt have the email yet. It was wrong yet again but I got the email from them shortly after talking to them.
• Has anyone got a number for the exec office (sorry tried to look through the threads)

I already i switched my broadband to Talktalk through principle, but would love to get out of my contract, which has another 19 to run and a cost of £192 to get out off

Regards

4) Report the case to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) 08454 04 05 06 and ask for it to be reported to trading standards

5) The next step would be to take your claim to the small claims court.
Issue a Notice of Pre-Court Action (suggest 10-14days notice) and email FAO (Name of Contact) executive.office@everythingeverywhere.com back that up with a hard copy and send by recorded delivery to Head Office:

Good Luck to all :) Apologies for the length!

Orange retained their Mobile Contract Customers by offering ‘Free BB for Life’ as an inducement to renew their Mobile Contract for a minimum term, and most of us relied upon that representation that Orange would not remove this incentive, certainly, it was not foreseeable at the time of renewal this would be to our detriment some time into a new contract.
Customers are now under duress to accept the current offer which is a substantial variation in terms, and has to be acceptable

As one can see they are a law to them selves
• Another con of Orange and T mobile with their contract phones;
Unlimited Minutes and data *(Fair usage applies).

Now unless I am stupid, unlimited and fair usage mean totally different things.
