I believe someone has a copy of the original marketting information. Possibly NickBirkin
• I got the email too... So, why do they need to change terms and conditions of "THE OFFER" of free broadband when the deal expired in October 2007?

And where are the terms and conditions of the free broadband for life promotion?

When you called the Exec Office with your Ofcom case number and made your complaint, did you then write a letter of complaint stating what you would accept as resolution to your complaint?
Might be worth doing that, and then email Exec Office.
Try and get a named 'case manager' to whom you can refer whenever you call and email your letter FAO + named person

If you were told, at renewal of contract, that BB was included, and it was your understanding it would run for the length of your contract, you have been mis-sold

Mis sold contracts
The law says that a service provider or shop must not try to sell you a contract which is misleading in any way.
This page tells you what to do if you think your contract or product has been mis-sold.

Yes I followed up my call to the Exec office with an email which is why the special team called me last week. I told them I wouldnt accept anything other than either of the two options already stated and then it was left where the mobile dept would call me. They didnt so I called the business dept today as my mobile is a business contract and then ended up speaking to the special team again because mobile retentions refused to speak to me because according to them they havnt breached any contract or missold me.

I stated that I was told the free broadband was for the life of my mobile contract but they just keep saying its in the T&C they can change it so how can I go down the missold route if according to them they can change it. Basically they could offer me a grand a week but then immediately stop giving it to me because their T&C allow them to change whatever they like. I just dont know what else to say to them to convince them ive been missold and that theyre are in the wrong.

Ive read the link and the good I received did match what I was offered up until now. Maybe its the contract doesnt reflect what I was told in that I was told it was for life of mobile contract but then their T&C allow changes so their bums are covered again. Its just so frustrating. There is no way I will be taking a contract with Orange, it is going to cost me money when they cut me off but thats my choice according to them because I could take their product and be no worse off with their offer of compensating me for any loss but I dont want a new contract with them for my landline. I dont want anything more to do with them once my mobile contract is finished.

Hi all,

I notice some of you mention being told your broadband was 'free for life'. Was this ever confirmed in writing, or written on marketing information? If so, please could you email a copy of this to helen@moneysavingexpert.com

Thanks.

MSE Helen

Sent you through a copy.
• Can anyone please find and repost the Orange free broadband for life TV ad? Thanks.
• In the interim, just for the hell of it, calling Orange 0800 Broadband line (on the letters) again.

Now being told I do not have a broadband contract at all! Different tactics to telling people they have a mobile AND a broadband contract (which they could not prove anyway).

i have now had a letter from orange saying as i no longer have a mobile contract with them my free bb is ending - i have a mobile!

when i rang them, they confirmed i do have a mobile contract with orange but i should just ignore the letter as it was just a way to get me to phone them to talk about my bb!!

Ive spoken to Orange again and im still refusing to signup to any landline or any other contract with them regardless of what they compensate me. There are 2 options I am happy with and they are free broadband continuing until my mobile contract ends in 6 months or immediate termination of my mobile contract at no cost to myself. Orange have refused to do either and stand by their decision to cut me off in November. They refuse to accept I have been missold, they just tell me the terms and conditions say they can stop the broadband if they want to. On what basis are we saying we have been missold? As far as im concerned ive been missold by being told I would have the broadband whilst I had a mobile contract but according to orange they are allowed to change my contract. How are we supposed to win on the grounds of misselling if they hide behind that term. I dont know what else to do. Ive complained to OFCOM and contacted the Exec Office with the reference number and to complain and now im at the end of the road and dont know what to do next. Im not going to just move my broadband until im cut off so what do I do now? I also dont want to buy myself out of my mobile contract either as I dont see why it should cost me more money.
It shouldn't!!!

The route that I have taken is to find an alternative supplier, then issue small claims proceedings for the cost of that new supplier up to the end date of my mobile contract. I am also suing for the termination fees of the mobile contract, but have not actually terminated yet, just in case the weasels manage to, umm, weasel out

By the way, still no response to the summons as yet
