Orange 'Free' Broadband
Comments

Like most of you I am in a similar situation, I have been with orange paying £30 a month for free broadband for life since October 2006. I have huffed and puffed and got nowhere with customer services or the special team.
I received a letter this morning saying my free broadband will be terminated on 27/11/2012 unless i switch line rental. ( I won't be giving them an answer).
However I also received an email this morning stating my t+c will be changed 30 days from today and I could obtain a copy if I phoned, I have phoned all the home broadband numbers I have used over last 3 months, yet all are closed! would love to see if anyone else has had the email and managed to get in touch with services/complaints/special team in last 24hrs.0 -
Anybody else receive an e mail today with a link to new broadband terms and conditions??
Sorry didn't see the post above !!0 -
Ive spoken to Orange again and im still refusing to signup to any landline or any other contract with them regardless of what they compensate me. There are 2 options I am happy with and they are free broadband continuing until my mobile contract ends in 6 months or immediate termination of my mobile contract at no cost to myself. Orange have refused to do either and stand by their decision to cut me off in November. They refuse to accept I have been missold, they just tell me the terms and conditions say they can stop the broadband if they want to. On what basis are we saying we have been missold? As far as im concerned ive been missold by being told I would have the broadband whilst I had a mobile contract but according to orange they are allowed to change my contract. How are we supposed to win on the grounds of misselling if they hide behind that term. I dont know what else to do. Ive complained to OFCOM and contacted the Exec Office with the reference number and to complain and now im at the end of the road and dont know what to do next. Im not going to just move my broadband until im cut off so what do I do now? I also dont want to buy myself out of my mobile contract either as I dont see why it should cost me more money.0

what email address did you get that message? was it an orange one or an alternative?
reason for me asking is that i haven't rec'd any message on paper, email or text to say that i'm being cut-off and i'm getting a bit paranoid now. what if they sent it on paper and it got lost in the post? i won't know i'm being cut off until i get disconnected.
(i don't want to call up and ask in case they find me on their system!)0 -
....
I guess it all depends which department it was which called as i think Orange have their own in house Broadband team along with a clearly outsourced technical department in India.
It was really information to confirm Oranges special department which many of us have been waiting for is in fact an out sourced call centre in Glasgow working for Orange with limited access to their systems.
I think anybody like yourself who has been emailing executives office and of such are being called back by Direct Orange staff. I for one sure know now how the tone of the conversation is totally different between outsourced and Orange direct calls.
All i can say to others is if you think you have been miss-sold don't listen to their very convincing arguments. The speech has been very very well rehearsed and would probably leave the average Joe totally despondent and signing on the dotted line.
BUT... if Orange have not miss-sold contracts and are totally in the wrong then why are they giving people anything and everything to price match line rental, call packages and losses incurred by the move just so they are not at a loss when moving their line.
They will give up to £120 for line rental saver losses, Match BT line rental at £10.75 a month, and any call packages you have. The catch? its for the duration of your contract and then it reverts to standard charges but must be taken for 12 months... and you must remain an Orange Customer.
Just remember you can do another deal at the 9 month point with Orange, for 12 month contracts that is0 -
yes i got the email today with a link to new broadband terms and conditions, going to move broadband to plusnet and keep trying to get mobile contract cancelled free of penalty charges0

Now Neil is himself posting about the Prague call centre. What a complete PRAT you are.
I was one of the first people to get my complaints dealt with by Orange, I had the phone number of the special team, and I could have helped everyone on this forum get the same as me.
So carry on suing and stopping your direct debits. You ruin yourselves fighting a battle you will never win. You are being advised by ignorant psychopaths.
It's very simple.
Open the screen with the pm's press "print screen" on keyboard, copy into "Paint" in accessories on windows menu and if you want I'll give you an email address to send it to.
I know I may be taking up space on the forum but am glad to add your proof or lies to the Ofcom portfolio.
Why you should be ranting like this on a forum designed for consumer rights is beyond me.
Orange are wrong on so many levels on this issue.
Unfair Contacts, Sale of Good Act, false and misleading advertising (see my post that shows a copy of the Free for life" ad) (and yes we all know it was as long as we kept up a mobile contract.)
Ofcom have been informed already of Orange using disruptive tactics, net wiping etc to dissuade and obstruct the wronged from their rights.
Why such vehemence can come from you, when your first post was to give up fighting is strange to say the least?
This forum has gathered many wronged folk and GIVEN them the strength to continue the fight.
Collectively they have sort the advice of lawyers, newspapers, each other and truly believe that they can fight this.
There is no deal you have been offered that you as an individual cannot share with the thousands in the same position.
If they have asked you sign a non disclosure clause (we know they haven't) they are conducting a sharp practice and when so many people are in the same boat, anyone with a social conscience would reject it out of hand.
This problem will never be solved by folk dropping out at the first flash of greens.
PS Have you really got a direct line for the Special Team, really? no honestley reeeeeeaaaaallllly? Give me your paypal account and I'll drop a grand in it for that.

Don't think anyone here thought you had for one minute.
Cryptic's complete silence on the matter speaks volumes.
Neither my offer of money or his need to put the record straight have elicited a response.
