Orange 'Free' Broadband

I'm not sure it's a case of cutting one's nose off etc. rather whether existing customers (who feel hard-done-by for a variety of reasons surrounding EverythingEverywhere's decision to alter the terms of the deal, it seems) appear concerned as to whether they might continue to trust in EE's continued agreement to uphold their own T&Cs and maintain customer loyalty.
Some hitherto satisfied customers, myself included, may now feel that they cannot trust EE to honour any further agreements. Customer loyalty is something which must be earnt in the same way as trust and respect. In my view, the tone and content of the letter regarding my broadband from Orange (and the phone-jockey's insistance that Orange had been providing it Free of Charge, when as previous posters have said it was not free, it was a loyalty deal for which I negotiated as part of my mobile contract) showed an abject lack of respect for the customer.
Respect, trust and loyalty are all qualities that are hard to win and easy to lose. Orange / EverythingEverywhere have managed to do just that for many people.0 -

Customer loyalty? Oh please, like you wouldn't jump ship at the FIRST opportunity for a better deal with someone else.0 -
I'm sorry but that is utter garbage. Oranges standard price was £15 a month then they doubled it to £30?!
And they didn't force anyone to increase their tariff and take the free broadband.
And as for Orange saying this broadband was free for life, I have never read or heard that from any Orange source.
Errrrrr, excuse me matey....... It's you who doesnt know what you are talking about.
I paid £15 pcm with Orange for my mobile phone contract for years. Prior to Orange offering an Internet service.
And about £15 pcm with Wannadoo and Freeserve for my internet connection.
After Orange acquired Wannadoo/Freeserve, the next time my contract became due, Orange increased that cost to £30pcm to cover the internet charges, yet called that internet service free.2006: Customers signing up to a pay monthly mobile contract over £30 per month will get free broadband. The broadband package (previously £17.99 a month with Wannadoo) includes a wireless modem and Orange Wireless & Talk - Orange's VoIP service, which offers free evening and weekend calls to UK landlines. For an extra £6 per month, customers can sign up to the Orange Anytime package which gives them free calls to UK landlines.
As evidenced by the people just on this thread, who had the same conversation and were also told its free for life.
As I am sure tens of thousands of others did. [If not more]
Just because you joined at a later date, and didnt have the same conversation, doesnt mean its 'utter garbage'
Orange stated the Broadband would be 'free for life'
It was a major part of their marketing campaign. They even sent letters out stating it would be free for life
whats the point in having 'Trading Standards" and the "Office of Fair Trading" and "Ofcom" When huge corporations can just lie, cheat, renege on promises, and do as they please? Just because they have a bigger bank balance than the consumer.0 -

Clearly our standards differ.0 -
£14 to Orange as opposed to £7.99 to Primus - it'll be costing me an extra 6 or 7 quid a month if I move to Orange so yes it is nearly double that I'll have to shell out.
If I move to Orange I'd also have to bare the cost of terminating my Primus contract that I've only had since May. I also had to pay them 60 quid to install a line at my property.
Either way you look at it my costs are going to increase and I'm not happy about it as my budget is is already bursting at the seams.
So for £16.40 a month you get phone rental & BB............£8.20 each per month.................pretty good? And no paying upfront for the line rental either.

Landline +evening and weekend calls via BT = £14.60 pcm
Mobile + BB contract via Orange Mobile Services (just checked online account and BB is shown in my inclusive bundle)
'Offer' via Orange = Landline + 'Free BB' = £14.00 pcm
Evening and weekend calls = + £4.50pcm
Therefore same service as I currently receive = £18.50pcm
If my maths are correct I see that as more expensive!0 -

The free Orange BB is going, whats the cost for you to get either future Free Orange BB or the actual cost with another provider?
Your figures miss these out.0 -

The point I make, is my online account shows this as part of my Mobile Contract. And in reply to beelzecubz that I AM losing financially if I take oranges 'offer'0 -
Ok, it's clear that the naysayers aren't prepared to either do their own research or maths.
The facts are that Orange is withdrawing its free broadband offer legally as set out in the T+C's you agreed to (despite what you may say to the contrary). That's it in a nutshell.0 -

No figures then? We all know most people will be worst off, all people will be doing is paying their line rental to Orange to get the future free BB.0
