Hugs amy, I don't think you're being unreasonable to expect a bit of sympathy and help!
Sounds a bit like my oh. Make sure you do the same next time he's ill.
Hope you feel better soon xx

Amy - not that I've ever done this :o but could you turn on the water works if your DH won't help you out? I think I would be really upset anyway if my husband didn't look after me when I was sick so it wouldn't really be faking it :rotfl: although im lucky in that hes great when im ill. seriously though what an awful day hope tomorrow is better for you. Don't worry about your colleagues talking, women gossip & doesn't sound like it was meant in a bad way, maybe they'd genuinely be really pleased if you were pregnant and so are just talking about it to cheer themselves up at work/ to pass the time type thing!
  • Hi everyone

Can i join in please? I was on the waiting to ttc a while back but life sort of got in the way....but i am back and ready to try and have a baby :D

Little background, i stopped my pill at the end of july, had a period at the end of september and one beginning of december. Have actively been trying to get pregnant since beginning of december and i am using opk as i have no idea what my cycle is doing

I got a positive opk on 7th of january and managed to bd the day before and the day after, do you think this would have been enough? I am guessing i will be testing on the 21st, eeeeeek.

Cant wait to get to know you all x

So glad things are going well for you and Mr Lowe. Its always nice to here good stuff as well as the bad. Everyone I meet IRL is complaining about one thing or another at the moment.

Yup, the FS promised me clomid in March. I have just checked FF and I have had 9 cycles in a year. Anywhere between 30 and 46 days. No month is the same. I am really glad I was temping right from the beginning or those longer cycles would have given me a lot of false hope and disappointment.

My weighloss has stalled at the moment. I knew when I bloated like a puffer fish yesterday and my temp dropped that the witch was on her way. I won't be getting on the scales till af is over because I know it is only retained water that will vanish along with af in 3/4 days.

Thanks for the hugs ladies. I know this mood only lasts cd1 for me and then I go back to normal

I think last time I checked I had 9 cycles in a 12 month period and they were from 30-54 days & I feel the same way about the temping. And I count cycles not months, even my friends dr told her to do that otherwise you're not giving yourself the same chance! :)

Just nipping in to say Birdie - re: CBFM peaks, I remember reading that something like 30% ov on the first peak, 60% on the second, the rest on the day after the peaks. Hope that helps :)

    Congratulations Welsh cosmic

Thanks BZ :) Back down to high now so I reckon my call of OV yesterday was the right one! :)

Miffed with OH though, he 'wasn't really up for it' last night so I sniffily said 'Fine. We'll just try again NEXT MONTH!', the concept of which confused and shocked him, even though I've been explaining the teeny tiny window we have to concieve in to him for a year! :p I just hope that Tuesday's BD did the job! :o

We often wonder on here why it takes so long to get pregnant and a lot of us see it as a totally inefficient biological process. Well I was reading a book yesterday written by a woman who was born in 1910 in the east end, so just over a hundred years ago, where there was no contraception, who said that that in those days women couldn't control the size of their families and often just kept having babies they couldn't afford to feed or have time to really look after the way we do today. So it was all seen as a bit of a burden.

I guess we forget that its only recently in history that we've been able to control this aspect of life, and mother nature is now frustrating us in the opposite way.

Anyway it made me feel a little differently about the fact that I've not got pregnant straight away, there is obviously a biological reason for this inefficiency which we would have been grateful for in times of old!
