I don't think he likes the idea of me knowing for sure when ov is like opks give. Temping means not knowing for sure at the time then after knowing, by which time the deed is done or not. He sees that as different and I can see where he is coming from on that one.

I would like to go on the list. I don't know how to change the colour as am on a tablet. I believe I am on cd7 today.

This cycle is very unlikely as OH is going to be doing a home fertility test and needs to hold off on doing stuff for the samples. Just so happens that this week is the most likely time and he's decided this week to do the test, grr. He wants to know as he had ops when he was young that can cause fertility trouble. We know the home one isn't as reliable as doctor tests but it's a starting point. His GP has already said they won't test unless we've been trying for a year even though the GP agreed there is a chance the ops could have had an effect on OH's fertility, grr. I really find it stupid that we may have to waste a full year ttc for OH to get tested properly even though they agree it is likely the ops would have had an impact.

After Id been temping for a while I can now use it to predict ovulation - or at least know if I am about to not ovulate - if my temp is too high I know 100% I am not about to. But you dont need to tell him that :)

Im sure you can pay for private tests, that will be a lot more reliable than a home test, my DHs mate went for one - its a really long story why to type on here, but he wouldnt have got it done at his normal dr because he wasnt actually trying for a baby.

Can you not just tell him to do the home test next week instead?

the problem with the home tests is they only give you count i think (and maybe not even distinguish between dead or alive) and don't give morphology (if they look right) or motility (if they are swimming forwards well and with purpose)

its very rarely so binary with sperm, you need the whole picture

it's reassuring to see yes, he's got 40 million sperm but they could be all dead/have two heads/not going anywhere

likewise he could only have 5 million but 5 million grade A motility and perfect forms

Yeah Ive read a lot of things saying the same - Ive read about some women on the fertility friend boards, buy their own microscopes - that cost hundreds of $$ to do their own more accurate research instead! I figure you may as well pay someone in that case!

    Well done Vic, that's fantastic!

I have WW tomorrow but am not too optimistic as I've had dinner with friends and then today I've spent most of the day picking at stuff - the downsides of working from home.

I'm hoping temping will help me pinpoint ov like it has for you. Or as you say know when you're not.

I am tempted to ask him to do the test next week but he's been preping as if testing. Will talk when he gets home. The only reason I think this week is the week is my cm looks right but I could be wrong.

Private testing has been talked about. Will probably do that if the home test gives bad result. However might anyway in a few months. That's another talk. The GP being so dismissive really knocked us that the idea of going to another even if private makes us aprehensive. Stupid I know.

The idea of spending that much to do it myself like they did seems stupid. Why risk doing it yourself when you could pay someone who knows what they are doing instead? Very odd.

    Good luck to anyone testing.

He had to go back to work, don't think he is in the right frame of mind to be taking boilers apart!!!! He wasn't 100% it meant I was pregant.... So I have a digi I will do when he gets home...
