Hi Time2Deal, really glad to hear you are responding well. Fingers crossed it all works out as hoped, both the IVF and the cancer treatment.

Loulou, I'm working from home today and have the iPad propped up with One Born Every Minute on it, silly thing to do really as I know it'll upset me. I've only seen a few episodes of it and part of me really wants to catch up but it always made me cry.

I have to keep taking breaks from work as it is a bit mind-numbing, so I've been looking at the website for the local hospital's birth unit and mentally planning where and how I will have my baby. I daren't tell DH, he already thinks (knows) I am obsessed.

I did have a huge temp drop today at approx 6dpo, but as my luteal phase is always 14 days exactly I am hoping it might be an implantation dip.
  • Ooo i didn't know tht home fertility tests existed, how accurate are they ? Would anyone recommend them ?

Angel treats - a potential implantation dip, sounds positive !!

My chart is here, if anyone wants a look, does this look like an implantation dip maybe?

I must not get my hopes up, I must be pessimistic or I will be disappointed again!

The one we bought is around 80%-90% accurate I think. There are some that claim in the high 90% range but I find that doubtful.
It cost £22.95 and comes with 2 tests so we thought that was good.
As we haven't done the test yet I can't recommend it but we think it will be nice to have an idea. If in the future OH is tested medically we will be able to compair the results which would be nice.

At least I'm not the only one "torturing myself" with one born! I think the one that got me upset was the accidental pregnancy, where she said she forgot her pill for a couple of days and then the condom split....we are all ttc so hard and yet some people manage it that easily!

January23 - I've looked at those tests online, as I have a DH reluctant to see doc, which one did you go for if you don't mind me asking? I know a docs test would be better, but as you say at least a home test might give us some idea of what's going on...

I don't mind you asking at all.
We went with fertilityscore in the end. No idea if we made the correct choice though. Knowing us in a couple of months we would have talked ourselves into buying a differnt type to see if it gives simular results, lol.

the problem with the home tests is they only give you count i think (and maybe not even distinguish between dead or alive) and don't give morphology (if they look right) or motility (if they are swimming forwards well and with purpose)

its very rarely so binary with sperm, you need the whole picture

it's reassuring to see yes, he's got 40 million sperm but they could be all dead/have two heads/not going anywhere

likewise he could only have 5 million but 5 million grade A motility and perfect forms

That's one of the reasons we got the test we did. It says it tests count and motility and uses the whole sample. Basically it says you can have high count but if the mobility is low it will show that in the result and visa versa.
    The abnormalities is another thing.
I understand some might not see the point if it isn't as accurate as medical testing but for example my OH has been worried and curious for so long that even a test such as this will be helpful for him and me.
