1.8 down since Christmas is great! That's about 10lbs, is that right? If I lost 10lbs that would take me back to where I was last October and it seems a huge hurdle to me so I take my hat off to you, that's a great achievement in hardly any time. :D

:o Thanks. 9.9 pounds so far. I was up a bit today because I overate last night, but due to the massive amount of housework I did today, I came in well under my calorie range (as in around 900 calories less than my max with the exercise figured in!).

It can still happen - I saw a programme about a lady who was pregnant with triplets and didn't know until she went into labour. This sounds preposterous but she was very very large. I guess anything can happen in the wonderful world of pregnancy!

EEK!!! Don't say that, twins run in my family! I don't know if I could handle twins for my first pregnancy. Oh who am I kidding? I'd still love it. :)

Most of my weight is in my hips/butt, a bit on my belly (which is actually shrinking quite nicely now), and in my darn boobs!

Any other women out there ever get upset with their boobs? I mean, they're just *always* there! Brush your teeth, BOOM! they're there. Try to lay on your stomach at night, BOOM! they're there. Oh well, at least DH likes them. :p

Well done on the weight loss Mrs_T_M. Any tips?

Eat healthier/less, move more (doesn't matter what), drink more water, and take vitamins.

I've restarted tracking what I eat on the myfitnesspal app, stuffing myself full to the brim on low calorie veggies like broccoli and green beans, and I'm drinking as much water as I can stand. For those who don't like the taste of water, drink through a straw and/or add in a little lemon or lime juice.

I've been doing research (amid everything else with the bd'ing, cleaning, and making meal plans and grocery budgets) and I'm coming to the realization that losing weight is about eating right. Toning up (aka, not being flabby, which I am guilty of with my tummy) is done through exercise. If you exercise too much, your body stays in a constant state of alertness and 'fight or flight' which can lead to multiple problems from all that adrenaline rushing through.

I feel better now, with only doing gentle walking and 10 minutes of movement per day (something like wii tennis for example), than I did 2 years ago when I was in the gym every single morning, 45 minutes on the elliptical, 45 minutes on the treadmill, 1 hour swimming laps, and every other day a full round of the strength training machines. I'm also losing weight easier and faster. I know that isn't the only reason, but it's definitely helped. Getting away from barley laden foods in the US is a major part of me feeling better as well.

Sorry for rambling. I tend to do that when I'm sleepy. :o

  • Hello lovely ladies. I've been awol lately as I'm really busy at work and I'm also during really really low PMA, so don't want to bring the thread down. On that note, could I be updated to CD1 today as the witch arrived with a vengeance two days early.

I would write more, but I'm sure I'd just lower the mood on here...

Thanks Claire. I do have cheap opks, but they have never really worked for me, I get a line of sorts usually on days 15/16 but it's never darker than the control line and I could never say it's a definitive positive, no matter what time of day I test. When I use up this batch I won't bother buying any more.

If you think thats the day you are ovulating and it fits in with when you get your period and taking your temperature, maybe it is a positive? It doesnt have to be darker than the control, just close to it. Especially if its happening on the same day each month, seems to make sense.

    I wish I had that problem :rotfl::rotfl:
  • Thanks Code, I know that it's a good thing that at least I'll know either way.... That said I think I'm dreading two options- the first being they say nowt is wrong and tell me to sod off (i.e. don't give me any treatment despite TTC for nigh on 2 years), the second being that they think it's the hubby (he has his SA in a couple of weeks). I know it sounds perverse but I really hope it's me with the problem rather than him because I know it would hit him incredibly hard whereas I think I'll deal with it better. The thought of it being him fills me with dread. He's not having a great time of it at the moment and I think this would tip him over the edge!

I'll probably ring them before I go to work in the morning Miffy. I'd rather not ring them in work in case they tell me something dire and I lose it or someone overhears me!

Mrs T_M- I always get like that with my boobs. I lost over 1.5 stone last year and they went a little smaller but now even though I haven't put that much weight back on they gone ginormous again. The husband was in deep mourning when they got smaller so I think he's been doing prayers to the god of boobs to make them come back. They're so bloody cumbersome! :o

Hope you find your PMA soon clearing... you can always talk to us here though! :)

I paid good money for mine so I usually just think they are awesome! :D Well, they are mainly awesome cos they have been breastfeeding for three-and-a-half years. I don't think I ever wish I didn't have them - I know too well what it is to have a flat chest.

Mrs tm I do when they make my shoulders sore, I do worry about the affect they're having on my back. that's another reason why I'm chest presses etc to strengthen in the hope of helping support their huge weight- I'm an h cup most places now

always said I'd love to have a reduction after kids if I'm lucky enough to have them. I reckon about a C cup is ideal, not too big but fills out tops nicely lol

ooh also, recently DH has discovered I'm really easy to knock off balance, he only has to tap me and I sway, must be a delicate operation keeping me upright lol

    Lol!!

Although on a serious note, do wait till you've finished your family to have a reduction as reductions can affect your ability to breastfeed, especially if they move the nipple during the procedure.
