Good luck for the blood tests...hopefully they will get to the bottom of why the cycles have changed. I have to go for the 21 day one on Monday (really day 26, but that's because my cycles are 33 days).

Welcome skaps - would you like adding to the list?

Claire that's good news. Sorry it had to go but you sound really positive. Love to you xx

Im trying. Still crying a lot but since I handed my notice in at my job Im not stressing over that anymore so can stop thinking about that on top of the awful past 2 weeks.

Thank you x I know - I just can't do this to myself every month, it's driving me insane. I could cry and cry, I'm just so fed up. Wish I had normal cycles so when I got that BFN then AF would show up pretty soon afterwards. I'm 22DPO!!! :(

Im sure Ive asked you this before, but what do you use to work out ov? are you 100% sure you ovulated 22 days ago?

Hi thanks for the welcome, I have been off the pill over 2 years now. My periods had been regular until the last few months. It was always a 30 day cycle. I need to have blood tests done to see if everything is alright and 2 tests have to be done on certain days, 1 on the 2nd day of your period and one on the 21st. Will have to do these next month, as I couldnt get to the hospital on xmas day.

the 21st one is to check you ovulated I think, so beware it may not come back to say that if you didnt ovulate at their textbook cd14 timings.

So some ladies ask to have it done at 7dpo, which might not be day 21.

If you arent sure when you are ovulating, and want to know, and your cycles are a bit crazy Id suggest you use opks, temping or looking at your CM, rather than just the phone app, which is most likely just using averages which doesnt always work out well if youre cycles are irregular.

Mine can be anything from 30-50 days and so fertility friend puts in green bits - when Im supposed to be fertile, on varying days each month depending on what happened the month before! I just ignore them and go on my bodies signs. I only use the website to put my temperatures in. But I dont use it to work out when Ill be ovulating the following month as that is anyones guess! :)

My periods for the last couple of months have been slightly irregular

    Aug - Sept - 30 days
    Sept - Oct - 34 days
    Oct - Nov - 35 days
    Nov - Dec - 45 days

I use the period tracker and the my days x apps on my phone, which have now said that my cycle is now 38 days. This has now messed up my ovulation days, should I stick to the 38 days for my cycle when calculating my ovulation days?

So based on this - Id say no for definite.

Its only working out 38 as an average over those months. Who is to say your cycle wont go back to 30 days next month and then youll completely miss ovulation!

Thanks for all the messages. Got our fingers crossed for an uneventful 9 months. I'm going to go over to the pregnancy thread, but I'll keep popping back to see how you're all getting on. Thanks for all the support I've had here. Wishing everyone the best of luck, I hope to be seeing lots of good news in the near future xxx

I think i already know the answer to this so please forgive me for asking such a stupid question. I am booked in to have '21' day bloods tomorrow morning but i expect to ovulate today or tomorrow. Should i cancel it? will it pick up anything? when should i go for it? the doc says 7 days before af., which is tomorrow. Confused!

  • Codemonkey - Hugs. Other people can be so frustrating. I must confess tho until I discovered for myself how frustrating a journey this was going to be I wouldn't have had a clue either. I think the only people who truly understand are people who have been there themselves.

No Angel - Good Luck! Hope you have a lovely pregnancy and a bouncing baby at the end of it:j

T2D - Nice to see you back again. Glad you enjoyed your time in Austraila.

Vic - Not sure what I am doing wrong but FF won't let me see any data beyond 6th od December on your chart.

afm. Well soy doesn't appear to have done anything much for me. Had a promising dip during the second week of my cycle but it didn't come to anything and there is still no sign of ovulation for me:(. Didn't like the extreme mood swings on soy either. I really hope that clomid in March won't have the same side effects.

Watched One Born Every minute Plus sized on 4OD and now I am even more determined to shed the excess weight this year. Already have my age against me. Don't need any of those other complications as well.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.:)
